Why not just Kipper + 3rd for Colborne + Scrivens

Will Kipper be around long enough to lead the Leafs to the Cup?

It's not about generalities like "Can he take us, or can he do it?".

It's about the numbers. His numbers are terrific, why would we invest assets into a worse goaltender? Seriously, it's ridiculous and stupid. It won't happen.

Trade day hype guys. Nonis has said over and over that the only way he trades young assets is for other young players. For a 35 year old goalie on his last legs, don't expect much. Just freeing up the cap space alone helps Calgary. If the Leafs widen the deal to try and get Giordano, than I can see Toronto giving up some decent prospects and picks (2nd,3rd) + Ashton, Blacker maybe Gunnerson as well.

Reimer has been WAY better than Kipper this season. Not even comparable.

But at the right price I would take Kipper in Toronto.

I can only base it on performance this year and I don't think anybody can debate that Reimer's been a much better goalie this season. Like...it's not even close. Granted I don't see him play nightly but this isn't the Kipper for 4 years ago or whatever.

Besides, I don't expect anybody to take the Leafs through 3+ playoff rounds.

Especially for a goalie who might retire. Feaster can either get something or nothing.

Maybe we're going to get Kipper for cheap, and then use him in a package for Luongo?

Everybody's happy happy happy!!!

Can he really? Or you know, can he exit in the 1st round like he has done in every other playoff run.

No it's not about numbers stat boy.

Kipper's been injured and playing in front of a team playing some of the worst defensive hockey anyone has ever seen. Reimers STATS on the Flames would be twice as bad as Kippers.

Can Kipper backstop a team to a cup? Sure. But, I don't think the Leafs are cup contenders with or without Kipper.

If he's coming rather cheap, having that insurance and a true pro like Kipper to mentor Reimer is not a bad idea. It just isn't a huge priority, or rather, shouldn't be

I am also sick of the doubters when it comes to Reimer.

Bernier and Schneider were gods without proving themselves but Reimer's not allowed a shot at carrying this team like he has been this year.

When was the last time he did that? 4-5 years ago? He seems like just as big of a question mark in the playoffs as Reimer - Scrivens would be. Would I rather have Kipper in the playoffs over our goal tending? Maybe. But for what he is going to cost, I am not interested one bit.

D'Amigo + 2nd + Scrivens for Kipper?

Could see that happening.

Well if the Leafs are as good as you guys say, you shouldn't have a problem. Hell if you can do it with Reimer, you can definitely do it with Kipper.

the flames don't suck because saying they suck is a HUGE compliment. Flames management should EMBARASSED and ASHAMED of themselves for putting this pathetic excuse for team and the word "team is used VERY VERY losely on the ice.

I'm not a Flames fan but the way they have treated their fans is disgusting , the fact that they have the balls to charge Flames fans ANYTHING to watch this product is disgusting.

The sad thing is it's been happening for years starting with the Phaneuf trade, then Regehr, then iggy and now Kipper and I do hope we get him I REALLY do. But those were the 4 faces of the franchise and COMBINED they got ONE 1st rounder and NO blue chip prospects.

So no Kipper doesn't suck Flames management sucks they have COMPLETELY destroyed this franchise
