No he's smart. He knows who he's dealing with.

I don't understand all this speculation around clowe. We already have better versions of clowe in simmonds and hartnell. I fail to see how acquiring him would help this team

Need scoring on 5v5 and D men

Try to acquire a forward who hasn't scored in forever

Left wing could use some suring up. Plus, never know what other deals might be in the works. Move a winger once Clowe deal is done -- for something else.

"On the second day of April Clowe was traded to Montreal for Louis Leblanc and a second round pick."

He's brings size to the wing but yeah I don't understand trading for him. I wouldn't mind if they tried signing him in the offseason if he's available though.

IMO size is one thing we have. I would really prefer a more shifty goal scorer than another Hartsy

Exactly. I wouldn't want to give anything up for him. Last time I checked he still doesn't have a goal this season

I think we're trying to beat up the rest of the Atlantic.

Could this mean Hartnell might be on his way out, then?

@Hartsy19 good luck in St Louis. You’re a great teammate and friend. Just make sure you keep your head up next year.
Nooo, I wanted it to be true. Stop getting my hopes up.

Canucks placed 1st + Jensen on table for a signed Clowe

Just heard it from the or radio, Clowe's talk is heating up and Canucks have come up as the most front runners of the group.

Apparently Clowe is asking for a ballpark of 6m on his new deal.
God I hope so.

It was locked right now till the Mods get proof.

Yeah I am not opposed to trading for or signing him, but the price has to be reasonable. Overpaying a trade then overpaying an extension. Yikes. No thanls.

What has Clowe done to warrant that

I have no idea. I'm guessing teams are thinking he'll regain his form with a change of scenery.

At this point it's just speculation though. I don't think SJ gets that much back for him and I highly doubt he gets that much money in an extension.

Before this year, I would say he was worth about that. 50-60 point power forward who can throw 'em.

If the BJ's come calling and offer their first rounder or the Rangers for Matt Read, do you consider it?

Blue Jackets? Yeah I'd have to consider it. It would come down to whether I was making a run at the playoffs and most importantly whether I could sign him to an extension.

Rangers? Not a chance.

Read's value to the team exceeds his level of play because his cap hit is so low. Easily the best value on the team.

That first wont play on the team for a few years, which sets us back too.

Soooooo.... Maybe.
