I love how good players seem to get an average return (Iginla , Bouwmeester) and OK but not star player (Regehr , Murray) garner overpayments (or close to). At this rate i wouldn't be surprised if the Sharks get more for Clowe than the Flames did for Iginla

This is bizarro world

Yes they should be alright, but they will have to give pretty big raises to Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk, who are both coming off their ELC. With the cap going down significantly next year, it might be a concern for them in the off-season.

Stewart in the off season! They have no reason to move him now though.

Like half their team are free agents this summer, including their most important players. Stewart, Berlund, Pietranglo and Shattenkirk are all RFAs, and all will be looking for massive raises.

Why are people acting like the Iginla trade was the same as any other deal? Like Feaster could have just shopped him to the highest bidder? Come on guys, you're smarter than that. Feaster himself knows he didn't and couldn't get fair value on that one.

The Bouwmeester trade is pretty fair value, IMO...the shine has worn off and he makes a lot of money. A 1st and a couple of average prospects seems right to me.

David Perron, with 3 yrs left at $3.8M AAV, gets my vote as most likely to be dealt now in STL.

I'd take Chris Stewart in a heartbeat this summer.

Not really...

Buyout Kaberle. Add Bouwmeester for 2.4 more per year.

I am not opposed to trading Gionta in summer for a fair price and re-upping Ryder.

So... we keep riding 5 d-men on the road forever?..

There's a limit to refuse giving up assets to get a good player who can boost your team. There's also quite a margin between selling the farm, and giving your players a giant "**** you" by not helping their chances in the playoffs.

He's a RFA which means sign and trade or make an overpriced offer sheet.

I'd love Stewart but with his work ethic history I'd be terrified of giving him a long term deal.

Seems pretty obvious to me but I'm sure hf posters could have gotten much better deals. Calgary has three number one going into this draft (maybe 2) and plenty of cash to spend.

Read the Flyers are the front runner on Twitter, but the Canucks are in there too.

He has a fair point about the Iginla deal but the Bouwmeester deal is almost akin to Bouwm for a conditional 1st. The two prospects they got were at the bottom of the Blues prospect pool and may never make it to the NHL.

I don't think it's that great of a return for JayBo , especially taking into consideration that Murray and Regehr both fetched 2 x 2nds.

It,s good that the Flames are selling but....

I'm not complaining about the potential availability these two players and i'd take them both in a heartbeat too. But how in the name of christ a teams top 2 leading scorers can be considered the odd men out is beyond me.
