Oh... sure. I believe they can get better quality anywhere else.

But they couldn't get as much VOLUME!

This thread should probablely be closed, but maybe I'll leave it open so we can all discuss how stupid of a rumour this is.

This would hurt team chemistry pretty significantly.

Souray is lousy in his own end, inconsistent at the point... but very consistent in standing up for his teammates and dishing out punishment. As for Ryder... he worked his *** off to get from almost undrafted to an established NHL goal-scorer with 40 goal potential. Those aren't the kind of guys I see Gainey dealing... especially for an enigmatic Russian who hasn't sorted his personal **** out.

I really don't know what to think about this.

Your actually saying that Mtl shouldn't trade 2 scrubs, a one-way player, and an average defenceman for a future franchise cornerstone?

Why is the sky blue? or Why are mountains there? are more relevant topics. Nothing good comes from these threads, a segment of the mouth breathing populous here at HF will forget that this "rumour" came from a washed up enforcer and we'll never hear the end of it .

This thread should be closed.

"Actually, they are not saying it's going to happen, but they are saying how it makes sense for both teams to make the deal.

They are suggesting that the Habs send Ryder, Ribs, Souray, Abs and our 1st round pick next season for Malkin (and I think T-Bo).

The radio guy claims that someone called him and told him this could happen. Wow, that's a ton to give up for a guy who has yet to play in the NHL."

Only the best player outside the nhl for : almost undrafted scorer and a lousy D in his own end (your word)

I think Stock came up with the rumour but it is so stupid that it didn't even pass Eklund's standards and hence is not posted on his site.

Get Malkin under contract along with a picture of him and his family on North-American soil and then I'd listen.
