Berra is ''Ready'' at 26yo and could be a good goalie on a cheap conract if it works out.

Obv ther are lot of IF and he can be a Victor Fasth or just dont adapt well and go to the AHL.

Dont put too much on his stats because the defense of ECH Biel is very bad.

He was top 3 Swiss goalie this year and top goalie the year before (when Hartley coach in the league)

He is going to play for Switzerland at the World ChampÓonship (unless the Flames signed him directly in the next 3 days if they trade Kiprusoft)

Let the blowup continue. Wish Rattie was coming back.
Oh well, who do you speculate that'll be gone next?

HF is ridiculous sometimes.

"JayBo is wayyyy overpayed and a curse. He doesn't score and is overrated."

"Flames should have got wayyyyy more"

Yeah ok guys. Flames just can't win.

yikes. that's a strange condition and a bit of a middle finger to the Flames if the Blues miss the playoffs.
They did this before with the Shattenkirk trade.

Makes sense from the Blues perspective, but not so much the Flames. Although it does sort of indicate that they are planning on a long term rebuild...

I'm praying St. Louis misses the playoffs, and gets obliterated to the bottom five next year . As it stands, this return kind of sucks.

-Berra was apparently a big deal -> one of the two best goaltenders not in the NHL (along with Ramo) according to scouts

-List was apparently a problem again, even though it was longer

-Not a fan of using the 'rebuild' word

-Uncertainty over goaltender next season -> Kipper's contract with only 1.5M in actual salary

-Talks about cap room. How it's an asset going into next season when the cap goes down.
He doesn't have the patience that other GM's exhibit. Or at least that's what this tells me. The first is something good. I like that we're stockpiling firsts. Maybe we try to get all 30?

I'm hoping Berra and Ramo turn out to be something special. And Kipper nets a big return if we trade him.

Is Jay Bouwmeester one of the best and underrated puck moving d-men in the NHL yet?

Boowmeester's cap amount to over 10% of the cap next year. Many team that might have been interested could not work him in even if they had wanted to. That probably had a similar effect to Iginla's NTC; it reduced the market.

So...

Couldn't Feater have offered to keep some salary? That would have increased his value.

You keep 2-3M for 1 year and in return... You don't get crap prospect. Just a theory.

At least this furthers my plan of rebuilding around Tim Jackman as captain.

Wow....just wow...wait years too long to "re-tool" and then give the players away... Feaster on TSN: says back wen they were on California road trip he told bouw and iginla that they would move them - bouw provide extensive list if teams - the reality of his cap hit took out a number of teams in his list - they like the d they got back - he has a wrist injury and will see their docs in abbotsford - they feel the goalie is one of the best goalies not in the NHL - and they recognize kipper will not always be there

Still? Despite knowing who's in charge?

Flames will likely be the ones giving up a 2nd round pick along with Kipper for some no name, 26 year old 'prospect.'

This is just cheap guys....

You obviously have no idea who Reto Berra is and instead of getting infos other than Stats of him, you're just ripping him...

Reto Berra is a big and athletic goaltender who is working on a future in North America. As mentioned before, Bob Hartley knows him very well as he almost single handedly backstopped one of the more worse teams in the National League A in Switzerland to the Playoffs - TWICE in a row...

I see him and Karri Ramo as your goalie-tandem next season...

That's some good joke. He's not even in the top-3 of the Swiss league this season and don't get me wrong, I'm not a Berra hater (how one could hate a guy with the name like that?) or exaggerating. This a quote from my conversation about him with a guy from Switzerland:

"He was awesome last year, but kinda lost it this season. I would still take guys like Stephan, Genoni, Conz or (if he keeps playing like this) FlŁeler over him."

Side benefit: We're guaranteed to get Jones/MacKinnon/Drouin/Barkov now.

This is HF Boards, where everyone knows more than the actual scouts.

Wouldn't be surprised if we do a Gio + 2 late firsts for Seguin or similar return in offseason. Yes I know Boston is less likely to trade us now

They were pretty much guaranteed one of them anyway. Flames currently sit 28th overall. This just might push them into last overall.
