-Berra was apparently a big deal -> one of the two best goaltenders not in the NHL (along with Ramo) according to scouts

-List was apparently a problem again, even though it was longer

-Want to stockpile assets. Don't want to be in the same position of missing the playoffs repeatedly.

-Not a fan of using the 'rebuild' word

-Uncertainty over goaltender next season -> Kipper's contract with only 1.5M in actual salary

-Talks about cap room. How it's an asset going into next season when the cap goes down.
The last point kinda scares me, I could See him trading one of the firsts for Brad Richards in the off-season.

I'd sell everyone. They can be replaced in later offseasons. More 1st rounders. Throw crap at the wall and see what sticks.

Lets give up on getting any kind of good return, if we move Gio + 2 firsts we will get some one like Burmistrov + 3 'owski''s.

I'm pretty surprised no team offered more.

honestly, Flames fans, don't take this the wrong way, but i hope the Flames do poorly enough for the rest of the year to get a top-3 pick if it means ensuring your rebuild will pay off in the best way possible.

building your core around Mackinnon, Drouin, or Seth freaking Jones would get me giddy.

We are gonna get 3 good prospects in this draft. I understand it's a terrible return but we are FINALLY rebuilding

No we aren't we could, trade down to 39 for an 'owski', trade the first for a proven player like ROR, put it in a package for a young player like Kadri. The incompetence knows no bound.

What a joke...

He's is based on talent and potential above all of them...

Well lets hope the curse is real and STL misses the playoffs and we win the lottery with their pick.

Also dont forget that Calgary will be big buyer on the UFA market with that cap space available this summer...

You have to wait next fall and see the team at the start of the season to decide if those mooves were good or not (Iginla-Boowmester)

Is anyone else afraid who Feaster may take if we get a 1st overall pick?

Here's hoping .

C'mon guys, we would have taken a 2nd round pick for this guy last summer. Now we get a guaranteed 1st, a guy with decent AHL numbers, and a nobody goalie. We're taking zero salary back.

Wait wait wait, before everyone cheers for the Blues, is a late 1st this year better than a 3rd this year (mid) + 1st round pick next year? What if they just suddenly play badly next year? It could turn out to be a better pick than a late pick this year.

Have you actually looked at the FA list for next season? Because you're going to be in for a fun surprise.

Why is this idiot allowed to make deals? I'm so done with Feaster. This is more embarrassing than when Federek was running the Stamps. Weisbrod is making me lose a ton of faith to. I want Burke hired so bad it's not even funny. What a ******* joke.

No only short sighted fans that looked at the stat sheet would have. Jbo is a #1 defenseman and is now going to show people that this team really is ****ed with Gio as the #1.

Well, guaranteed one before the Flames found some way to screw it up.

And ROR can't be traded for a full calender year. They'll trade the first for Stastny. A first plus Backlund or Brodie. That's the Flames way.

The first is lottery protected this year.

Next year, maybe the Blues can tank.

Pick is pretty much lottery protected

So best is St Louis barely make the playoff and exit the first round

I can see it now, Ribero 4 years 23 million, Horton 4 years 20 million, Ryder 4 years 20 million

Cammy - Ribero - Horton
Tangs - Backlund - Ryder
Sven - Stajan - GlenX

All offense baby
