Maybe we can just trade for Malkin's face through a floating TV, like in The Jetsons

Yeah... It's almost too much but we really feel a lot of pity for this Malky? Malko? Malkov kid...

I think Stock is trying to play with us. Or someone is playing with him.
I do think Pittsburg would be a better team this year with these players. But all these guys have 1 year left on their contracts.
Basicaly Habs would be giving their #1 scoring wigner, #2 center, #2 defense, #1-1/2 Goalie and #1 pick.
I think some other teams could come up with a better package(guys signed longer term etc..).

The only problem from the habs side is we'd be thin on D.

I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out why Pitts would do this. Making the minimum salary cap limit dosent make it for me.

So everyone in Montreal that the Habs are desperately trying to keep.

Only makes sense.

I also heard that the Avs made a run at acquiring Malkin with Pierre Turgeon, Brad May, Patrice Brisebois, Brett McLean and Marek Svatos. Word is Francois Giguere backed out at the last minute because he felt they were giving away too much.

That's a good bet!

Then again, I caught myself watching an old 1979 (?) game between the penguins and the blues on the NHL network yesterday (Mike Liut was the thang!)... At that point, I think I might be a bit hockey starved...

Anything to talk hockey really...

Why the hell should we close this thread? It's good fun talking about it.
Come on guys try to give substance to your comments. Give reasons why this rumour is stupid. Give reasons why PJ would talk about that. etc... Do you think PJ believes it?

This thread has a source, and it would be kinda boring if we shut down every thing that didnt seem to make sense.

Why are we listening to a guy who spent his whole career getting punched in the head by other men and Darcy Tucker.

Since Stock and Eklund are buddies, I wouldn't be suprised if this makes onto his blog.

Oh for the love of God...is Stock really stupid enough to believe that the Pens are looking to trade Malkin?

Sure as hell isn't as bad as comments like "Markov's got the worst hockey sense on the entire team".

Maybe Malkin spoke to Kavalev and Samsonov, and they told him to come here because Pittsburgh sucks.

Or Maybe Kovalev is Malkin's father

Actually, Stock used to have a blog on Eklunds site, but doesn't anymore.

I'm pretty sure that's worse, right?

well considering that nobody seems to know where Malkin's at and that maybe the mafia has assassinated him, would they even be allowed to trade him? or would they simply be trading the rights away?

The point being, of course, that had this rumour been broadcast on CKAC, at least half the posts would have generalized about how the French media are biased, incompetent, xenophobic, etc., etc. But since it's from an English media outlet, no such uproar. Par for the course.

Biggtimer is kinda right

if they trade us Malkin right for all those players and Malkin ends up caught by the russians or that we have trouble signing him or getting him in Canada we could end up giving half our team for nothing

but Malkin is a superstar.

I wouldn't do the trade unless Malkin is sure to come here if we have his right, but if te penguins are sure he'll come the won't trade him.

so it won't happen

Well, there is the uproar that the rumour is asinine and the host must be either ******** or drunk. I'd say that qualifies as incompetent. This isn't the first time we hear complete nonsense from PJ and the Team, and their credibility with pretty much everyone here is about negative 5 million points.

I didn't hear anyone on the Team saying how we should trade all the Francophones away and replace them all with West Island anglos, so I don't think anyone is going to call them xenophobic.

Well maybe 110% but CKAC has a guy called Ron Fournier who is very credible IMO.
