True.

Think about it. Pittsburg plugs a lot of holes. Ryder pots a minimum of forty a year with S.C. as his center. A future Richard Trophy winner. Souray adds his cannon shot to the PP as well as his toughness and team play. Aebby takes some of the pressure off Fleury. Ribiero steps in as the 2nd line center until such time as some one better comes along. Plus the first-rounder to keep the prospects coming...

Gives the Pens a real shot at the playoffs.

That story has been the top one on TSN.ca for a while now.

Komisarek might clinch the deal though.

And we'd still have:

Samsonov-Malkin-Kovalev
Higgins-Koivu-Dumont (sign him)
Perezhogin-Plekanec-Johnson
Begin-Bonk-Murray

Markov-Rivet
Souray-Bouillon
Cote-Dandenault

Then sign a puck-moving defensemen (if there are any still around)...???

Samsonov - Malkin - Kovalev would make me wet

Le me open my GameCube...

1st round pick 08' + 1st round pick 09' + Michael Ryder + David Aebischer + Ryan O'Byrne + Mike Ribeiro

We sign JP Dumont

Chris Higgins - Saku Koivu - JP Dumont
Sergei Samsonov - Evgeni Malkin - Alex Kovalev
Alexander Perezhogin - Tomas Plekanec - Mike Johnson
Radek Bonk - Mike Ribeiro - Aaron Downey

That would be a small price to pay for Malkin.

We don't include any of our top prospects nor Markov in the deal.Malkin would more than compensate offensively for Ryder's departure , Aebischer is expendable and while i like Komi , he's definitively not an untouchable for a guy like Malkin. The two first round picks are what would bother me the most but i doubt that we could draft a player like Malkin with them anyway.

I would do that deal in a heartbeat

Half the people in this very thread called Stock either punch drunk... or just drunk period. Gabriel Morency gets slammed consistently from pretty much everyone and deservedly so. They'll get called out when they say something ridiculous or stupid don't worry. The reason you don't see them get blasted for bias regarding language and xenophobia in general is because they don't have it... period.

Granted, but in fact the rain is acid.

I wish Ovechkin sign here to play with Malkin.

Did you make a copy of Ribeiro, so you could trade him and still have 1?

That's fine and all, but if you put Malkin on the open market, the Pens get about 20 offers that blow that one away and can send Malkin out west where they will rarely see him. Hell, Gainey's actual offer would be better than Stock's rumor.

I doubt they would be interested in Aeby, so I threw in Kostitsyn instead.....why not???

(good thing I'm not GM....always fun to cash in the chips!)

While I certainly feel this rumour is silly, understand that Malkin - if he's to be traded - may never end up on the "open market."

A lot of teams may be scared by his stunt. If he comes here, I guarantee Kovalev - and maybe even Samsonov or Markov - have a big part in it. Kovalev is Kaptain Russia. If anyone can protect Evgeni, it should be him.

Not if we want a place for Kostitsyn or Latendresse.

Now I don't believe this will happen, but just for fun...

Samsonov - Malkin - Kovalev
Higgins - Koivu - Latendresse/Kostitsyn
Perezhogin - Plekanec - Johnson
Murray - Bonk - Begin

Markov - Komisarek
Dandenault - Rivet
Streit - Bouillon

Huet
Danis

Ok we might need some help on D lol.

But if we take into consideration that we can sign Dumont in all this crazy thing, it's not bad.
