yup old injury-prone, top 5 in points, top 2 goals by Dman, ancient at 34, top 15 dman in NHL-markov. Nope you can't have him, even for overrated couturier. He'll retire as a hab

We need a young stud d man.....
Couturier is not getting you a young stud d man, or a 34 YO stud dman for that matter.
how entertaining those couturier for Subban threads use to be

i don't think fans of other teams realize when they make these ridiculous trade proposals that the flyers don't have any cap space at all. we can't afford to take back 4-5 million dollars in salary for your aging, overpaid players and we sure aren't going to give you all our best players, prospects, and draft picks to do so.
are you ok?

anyways trading markov ain't happening, especially not this year.

I remember when it was Subban+ for Couturier - the guy who Homer wouldn't trade for Weber!

best line: "wouldn't trade a bag of pucks for him". HF trade boards need both ID and IQ background checks

Absolutely ridiculous to think Markov wouldn't get a 1st if he was available.

Some people ...

Markov would get a first without doubt...in no way would he ever ever get Couts and that is a fact!

Obviously. That's like saying Pronger (a few years ago obviously) wouldn't get Galchenyuk. There's limits after the draft because you know what you have.

It's a lot easier to move picks because you don't get attached to a player.

Markov, in this market, would probably get 1st + good prospect + conditional pick (re-sign). His age hurts his value. If he was 28-30, he probably could return a Courts. He's not, so his value lowers a lot.

No way would that be a prospect like Courts though.

Probably something like Laughton, 1st, conditional pick for Markov if he was available.

i could pretty much go on forever about how ridiculous this is, but the type of player you're suggesting to us (34/35+, making almost 6 million dollars) is the type of player we're trying to get rid of. like i said before we have NO cap space at all. if it wasn't for LTIR we would be over already. we're going to have to get rid of briere+ to be under the cap next season to start with so it just isn't going to happen.

yes timonen is overpaid, but at least he only has 1 year left. no couturier is not overrated, he's a 20 year old kid who has been stuck playing with 4th liners for most of the season. struggling your second year in the league on a team that has been pretty awful for most of the season doesn't suddenly make you a bust. the thing about kids is they're going to be inconsistent for a while and you actually have to have some patience in developing them. looking at his stats this year gives no indication at all whatsoever about the type of player he's going to be in the future.

just because it makes sense for montreal doesn't mean it does for philly. he would be better for a team that's going for it now, not a team that needs to rebuild their defense.
