Last 2 Flyers Finals appearances... 1987, 1997... so I think we are due to make it in 2007, and WIN this time. Close calls in 2000 and 2004, so maybe this is the year. We can always hope.

If key players like Forsberg, Gagne and Pitkanen can stay healthy I think the Flyers can make a run. With the parity in the league I don't see a clear frontrunner going into the season. It will really come down to the 3rd and 4th line guys the Flyers have picked up and whether they can contribute more than Savage, Brashear, Branco, etc... I am optimistic about this season (but I always am). I think they are in much better shape for call-ups this year. Last year's Phantoms team was depleted and the players they called up couldn't contribute much aside from Umberger. I went to a game last year vs. Montreal and half of the team was Phantoms and the Habs skated circles around them. It was pathetic.

Here's to no Flyers concussions in 2006-2007.

Ditto on all points. I'm actually so optimistic about this upcoming season that I'm starting to scare myself.
