With our picks I'd like to see (assuming picks are at 3rd, 18th, and 30th):
Drouin/Mac/Barkov
Pulock/Lazar
Hagg/Petan

I could also see us trading our 18th and 30th to move up into top 10ish territory.

Of course. After Berro and Ramo, who's the next best goalie in Europe?

You'll have to ask Feaster. Only he can spot these gems, and no one else knows about them.

Cunz! Why didn't just sign him and target a different prospect.

Not sure if pulock would be available at 18th. I'd favour something like, MacKinnon, Morrissey, and Hartman with the 3 picks the flames have

I don't think pulock will be available either, but I can hope? I'd imagine he will be picked up at 13-14.

According to the mock draft on mynhldraft.com

http://www.mynhldraft.com/NHL-Mock-Draft/

The Flames are picking Aleksander Barkov, Robert Hagg and Jason Dickinson with the 4th, 18th and 29th picks respectively.

I think Calgary will probably get 2nd overall, so that would give us a crack at Mackinnon or Drouin according to that mock draft. Florida is taking Jones 1st overall. 18th overall for the blues pick is if they get eliminated in the first round, and 29th is if the Pens get to the finals but fail to win the cup. I think were picking 30th, the Pens are winning the cup. But I expect the Blues to not get out of the first round. Picked at 30th by the Blackhawks was Andre Burakovsky. Who is apparently a decent winger in Sweden.

If we could change Dickinson to Petan that is my dream draft right now.

I like Hagg. I think he would be a very good pick up with one of our picks. The Hockey News had him rated as a top 10 talent in this draft and said he already moves the puck like an NHL defenceman.

With the picks we have, construct a deal where we get Mackinnon and Drouin

Forget a deal, here's how it needs to go down:

I'd rather get Jones and Mackinnon. A future #1 defenceman and a future #1 centre are great foundational pieces.

Do you guys think that with the new draft format where every team has a chance at number 1, that this actually hurts our chances of having a good draft. The percentage of us drafting to is slightly less because of this, right?

Not really such how the draft lottery works now... Does this mean that our 1st round Pens pick could actually, with the greatest luck in the world, land us the 1st pick?

The odds are exactly the same currently. the only difference is they removed the rule where a team can only move up 4 places. The lottery winner has been outside the top 5 before (New Jersey to select Larsson for example) but they could only move up 4 places. This could all change for next season though.

However I do believe that this slight change has made it so bubble teams won't give up their 1st unless its protected like in the Bouwmeester deal.

Every team has a chance, but the odds of it happening are extremely low.

Quote:
The likelihood of each team gaining the right to the first pick is as follows:

Team 1 25.0%

Team 2 18.8%

Team 3 14.2%

Team 4 10.7%

Team 5 8.1%

Team 6 6.2%

Team 7 4.7%

Team 8 3.6%

Team 9 2.7%

Team 10 2.1%

Team 11 1.5%

Team 12 1.1%

Team 13 0.8%

Team 14 0.5%

No club will move down more than one position as a result of the Draft Lottery. The remaining first round drafting positions are determined by the results of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

As much as people are crying around the league that Calgary got killed in these trades, Feaster is satan and there is no future in Calgary for the next 100 years...

It does feel good to finally be in a rebuilding mode and currently hold 3 picks in the first round

Whats the most 1st round picks a team has ever had in the same draft?

If St. Louis makes the playoffs, that pick is going to be more like 20-25. If they don't, it's no pick.
I'd say the lowest the Pittsburgh pick gets is 26.

If the Blues are eliminated in the first round their pick could be as high as 15th overall, depending where they finish in the regular season, if the playoffs started today that pick would be 16th with a 1st round loss.

The Pens pick would be 25th if they lose in before the Conference finals if the playoffs began today.

Dream scenario would be the Kane Toews type of draft. 2 solid top forwards, one a future leader of the team. Then build around them.

Wisebrod(Spelling?) said that he and the scouts think that Lindholm is considered to be in the race with Mac and Jones. Do they draft him first or trade our other 2 picks to move for him?

What I want

Mac/Barkov/Monahan/Lindholm in order

Morrisey/Zadarov in order

Lazar/Duclair/Petan in order

I think a bigger test will be to see what Feaster/Calgary do with the cap space.

Do they spend the minimum knowing it will be another couple years until they have a playoff/cap worthy product?

Or do they utilize the cap space and take some crappier contracts in order to pick up other assets?

I can't imagine at this point that Kipper, Tangs or Cammy will want to hang around, could pick up some more solid assets/picks by the deadline.

Calgary will take heat and so will Feaster but I'm glad they finally made the right decision for this franchise.

I'd like Mac/Lindholm... I think it would be a real tough decision if Jones is on the board when we pick, because we badly need a C...
