Told Letestu's cap hit will be $1.25M per year. So, it's a two-year, $2.5 million contract. He would have been a UFA this summer.

good deal

That deal is great. Letestu is a steal at 1.25.

Glad for him. Never had a chance at keeping his place at Pittsburgh so glad that's he able to get a deal to stay in the NHL.

Definite steal, I thought it would be at least 1.8 million. Great Story that he's made it as a full time NHLer given his long road to the NHL.

This will take him till he's 30, right? Might be able to cash in if he manages to put up some 40+ point seasons.

And he is yet another example of Shero giving away useful NHL players for virtually nothing.

Pens needed to clear the roster space and there was no room for Letestu so the alternative was to give him for free via waivers. Shero did great in moving Letestu for a pick. Gave Letestu a chance to play in NHL and he's done well for Columbus. Good for him and CBJ.

A 4th round was a fair deal, eventually he would had been waived for nothing.
Congratulations to Mark.

Great signing. It is also nice seeing us sign a guy for probably less than what he would have gotten as an UFA.

At the time Letestu had proved nothing more than he was a decent fill in 3rd line centre who could win faceoffs, how do you expect to get more than a mid round pick for that?

Shero makes great deadline moves and people still criticize him.

Go back to NHL12, the real world is different.

As for Testy great news-I loved him as a Pen and glad he's getting a chance.

Atta boy Test Tube! The Penguins and their fans miss you.

Really glad he's doing well. Sucked to lose him.

Congratulations to Mark.
Predictably, the knee jerk Shero worshippers crawl out of their holes. Yeah, he gives away Letstu who score 19 goals in the 85 games that he's traded and he gives Kennedy $2 million.

The odds of getting a player as good as Letestu in the 4th round is very very low, so he gave him away for zip. Just like he gave away Moulson, Muzzin, and Strait. In contrtast, every attempt at recelamation he's ever made has failed.

Bottom line. He doesn't walk in the door with Crosby, Malkin, Fleury, Letang and Orpik already there, and he's just another GM.

Strait had his opportunities, but was not visibly better than anyone in front of him on the depth chart. Moulson was a mistake, but hey, that happens. Couldn't care less about Muzzin and I always liked Letestu, but he never had a chance on the Pens. He was too good to keep on the 4th line, not established enough at the time to be a consistent 3rd liner when we had Staal centering the 3rd line.

And how about the deal to bring in Dupuis? How about Kunitz? Neal? All great moves.

Sorry but you're wrong.

Great deal! Test-tube has been our most consistent player all year. Can't believe we got him for so cheap.
