Leafs-Dallas-Van

To Van:
Derek Roy (4)
Reimer

To Dallas
Colbourne
Blacker

To Toronto
Luongo (5.5)

Toronto gives up nothing from their roster other than a goalie from their tandem. Van gets a much needed help at centre. Dallas gets a couple mid-level prospects to continue the rebuild.

But we give up a goalie that we really like.

Luo is not worth Reimer, Colborne, Blacker, and a 2nd lol.

Colborne, Blacker, Reimer, and a 2nd for Luongo?

Terrible for everyone but Vancouver. Dallas could get more for Roy.

I dont know when people will understand that Toronto does not want nor need Luongo and his garbage contract and declining play. ESPECIALLY not at the cost of Reimer, Colborne, Blacker, and a 2nd pick

A thousand times a thousand no's and Toronto hangs up the phone rather angrily.

Roy is a rental. Unless you think a 1st has more value, I doubt they get a better package.

Would this deal be more appealing if TO dealt only Blacker, Reimer and a 2nd for Luongo?

Even as a rental he could get a late 1st and a prospect like Blacker.

I wouldn't want to give up Reimer at all for Luongo.

Edit: I guess maybe it is fair for Roy, if you value Colborne as much as most Leaf fans do.

How about:

Toronto:
Loungo
Kesler

Vancouver:
Grabovski.

Kesler is an upgrade over Grabovski for the leafs. Toronto accepts Loungo as negative value thus balancing out the trade.

Here we go.....

While his contract is ridiculous he does not have negative value. He will not fetch the return suggested in the OP, but he won't be free. The true value of Loungo lies somewhere in between what Leafs and Nucks fans propose. It's useless to even discuss because it just turns into an argument with dumb posts like the above.

The purpose of the trade is to be as equally as dumb as the Vancouver fans proposal.

And unfortunately Loungo's value is pretty damn close to negative. If he as so desirable, someone would have pulled the trigger on the a deal by now. His return will be at best a 2nd rounder... or if lucky a high risk/ high reward prospect.

I agree the value is there, but would Vancouver want to take on Luongo's contract when they have Schneider as well? I think Vancouver would have to retain some salary in order for Vancouver to accept.

Toronto gets bent over? Christ, that's awful for Dallas.

Sorry OP, but this Nuck fan is leaving you to the vultures after this mess.

Toronto should just send a 7th round pick to Vancouver just to have their GM announce that Luongo will NOT be traded this year.

Toronto does not want the contract at this point. It would KILL our future. You could get two solid 2nd or 3rd line forwards, or a 3-4 d-man for that price. Especially the retiring penalty percentage we would be saddled with even if he plays till 40.

I think most Toronto fans are secretly hoping that Nonis is just pretending to have interest in Loungo as a way to troll Gillis as revenge for the coup he played to get the GM position in Vancouver.

No thank you. Realistically I don't see any way we can keep Roy after this season.

And they say Toronto fans make bad proposals. Why would we trade Reimer, whose had a pretty good season so far for Luongo and his albatross of a contract?

What has Reimer done or better yet not done that would make leaf fans want to trade him?

I think its a forgone conclusion that Reimer is the future in goal for Toronto, who can we get to help him along the way is the question.

I may be wrong, but i thought the penalty goes to the team that signed the player.
