If we were to move Clarkson, Boston would be a perfect fit IMO. I threw out the idea of Caron + 1st.

Edit: Can't believe Roy is costing less assets then Regehr or Murray

Dallas is 3 pts out of the playoffs and selling off. Sad part is we will be there by the end of the weekend and it will be too late to sell anything.

Supposedly it's a good prospect too. A two 'and' another quality asset isn't nothing.

WTF is Kevin Connauton?

The prospects who are being moved this year are all unknowns, outside of Morrow. The price is really cheap if a 2nd and a unknown prospect is all it took to land Dereck Roy.

The Canucks make out like bandits on this one.

Move Clarkson, profit, think ahead cause we got some rainy days on the horizon mostly cause our veterans, who are the backbone to this team, are a couple of years away from retirement and the pipeline is close to bone dry.
this is exactly what he said in february, and you called him an idiot for it. that's what his point is. except i'm willing to bet clarkson would have gotten a higher return this time a month ago than he would today.

it doesn't matter though, because lou won't trade clarkson.

He's a very good, and young, offensive defenseman. Not saying the deal was completely fair for both sides and they both got equal value, but Connauton is not an unknown prospect by any stretch.

I hope Lou gets some picks for this years draft, preferably a 1st for one of the log-jammed Dman. This is a very good and deep draft, so if there's any time to stock up, it's now. Realistically, with the line-up being dressed right now, and the way they are performing, it won't be too long before the Devils are out of the playoffs. Making a big move to make a playoff push isn't worth it. I don't want Lou to start a firesale but at least get something for the plethora of Dman.

Edit: As much as I don't want to see Clarktard on the ice anymore, he won't be moved. Watching him do the same thing over and over every game with no success and no drive to change his game is frustrating. But either he walks this summer, or Lou signs him long term and I feel the latter is more likely (unfortunately).

At the time, when we actually winning games, it made no sense... you know, cause we were winning games.

Now that we can't win against bottom feaders, it's time to realise that the 2013 campaign isn't ours, so let's start planning for the future.

Why trade away players when we're on a hot streak and the player we want to move is the only one scoring goals? Now that right there didn't make alot of sense but with our "New York Mets" slide in the standings, we wouldn't miss him cause we aren't going anywhere and David is a shadow of his former self.

Would the return be less then if Lou moved him when he was torching the league, maybe... but we were in 1st at the time, now we're in 8th and dropping by the second.

More fun if you read it like Beck singing "two turntables and a microphone." Wonder if Khoklachev is one of them after being the bait for Iginla/Morrow previously.

Even if we are selling getting rid of forwards makes no sense because we have no one to replace them. This is obviously not our year but we should at least make an effort to win one more time before Brodeur retires. Getting rid of Clarkson does not help us for next year.

Did they move the deadline to today and not tell Lou?

@RealKyper Higgins also re-signs in Vancouver, 4 years 2.5 per year. #canucks

This board's going to be an even bigger embarrassment when Clarkson doesn't get dealt.
