Boom!

Can't wait to see a Boston - Pittsburgh series. I'm sure there are a ton of nervous penguins out there right now.

Should be an interesting day tomorrow on tradecenter. If this move goes down I will be happy for JJ. He will be a nice fit on that club for sure.

Only if everything was on a pole to win.

It's almost like the Kaberle trade:

Joe Colborne + 1st + a conditional 2nd if they reached the ECF/SCF (Can't remember which one, but they won so we got the pick).

Jagr still demands a pretty penny -- although I wouldn't expect it to be a first rounder, that's more or less the Iginla deal on repeat.

Me personally.. I think Pominville makes a TON of sense in Detroit... lines up with Datsyuk contract as up next summer... gives him playoffs to get used to Red Wings and their system... then next year Wings make one final kick at the can with the Z-Dats combo...

Nyquist, 1st and Kindl maybe enough

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Brunner
Franzen-Filppula-Pominville

I am going to speculate that the pick is 2nd, or a 1st if Bruins make conference finals

underrated? by what measure? many point to the Flyers collapse as some evidence that double J still has all the moves.

Yep, agreed with this. Either one also has the insane ability to elevate their game. I also think both of them will.

If all Jagr does is help improve the Bruins PP, then he makes them a tremendously better more dangerous team.

Bruins - Penguins ECF is going to be EPIC

Pens beat rangers in 5 games when Jagr was with them, but he had his way with em. Obviously much time has passed, but Jagr is still a good player. It's a solid pickup for the bruins...nice consolation prize. It's going to make for a very exciting playoffs. This is something we rarely see in the NHL. A guy like Iginla to the pens, and Jagr to the bruins.

Buckle up.

oh yeah, we're all shaking in our boots. those guys the Pens just acquired have nothing on this version of Jagr.

(of course, Jagr plays well against the Pens, but i'm not worried about this deal as long as the Pens match him up with size and grit)

Detroit wouldn't offer their 1st for JBo. Don't expect them to make any kind of deal involving those assets.

That's no way near as bad as The Province writer Tony Gallagher thinking that Derek Roy propels the Canucks as one of the favorites all of a sudden to come out of the west.

how has that translated to points this season?

Jagr has 4 more points than Iginla this season. is he the more talented of the two? absolutely. is he head and shoulders superior to Iginla (and to use the overused HFBoards phrase) AINEC? no.

Bruins needed pure scoring ability more than size and leadership (like someone pointed out earlier). it was the opposite for the Pens. i completely disagree with you if you are suggesting Jagr >>>>>>> Iginla.

Ya it's hilarious to think two teams who were in the final two years ago could make big acquisitions to their teams would EVER be contenders, 1 year after an 8th seed won the cup and considering what a crapshoot this "season" has been
