So this was Dallas's plan all along, sign these vets and deal them at the deadline. Im surprised, i thought they were really going for a playoff run.

yes, Jagr is a much better acquisition for Boston than Iginla would have been, looks like this pushes them over to being the favorites now in the east

One thing's for certain. Jagr will endear himself to the people of Boston over the next month or so only to sign with the Habs for $1 more than the Bruins offer him in a contract extension.

That's just how this dude rolls.

Pretty great plan. Sign some big name vets to put butts in the seats, if you make the playoffs great if you end up at the deadline and can sell you can get some good assets. Smart management.

Nyquist, 1st and Kindl maybe enough

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Brunner
Franzen-Filppula-Pominville
He makes a tremendous amount of sense for the Wings. Now, what is the real asking price? If Im Buffalo, I want one of their higher end D prospects. After that, we can assume there will be more. With the UFA market so thin this year and Detroit needing that scorer up front, this is the type of deal they would really be interested in.

Wasn't the whole myth of him going to Philly over Pitts due to just the money busted?

You guys can't give it up yet?

So Khoklachev is safe.

Dallas is short on centre prospects right? I bet it's Spooner who has great offensive instincts but needs a lot of work on defense.

Guessing Spooner, Cohen and a 2nd.

Fine for me if he helps winning the Cup. I'm not sure the Bruins would intend to keep him past the summer either way.

I think DET would spread the offense out a bit more:

Franzen - Datsyuk - Pominville
Filppula - Zetterberg - Brunner

Absolutely filthy top 6.

If Jagr was so much better than Iginla ( not career....at this point...as in right now) then why did Boston push so hard for Iginla ? Why did Boston fans flip out and their media write articles about how Crosby getting hurt was karma for him talking Iginla into signing with the pens ? Why are they so mad about Iginla going to pens ? They should have wanted Jagr all along, yes?

Like I said in my previous post, its a nice pickup for the bruins ...nice consolation prize. I hope Boston wins that division , then we both meet in the ECF. Would be great. Hockey needs that as well. Ratings would be pretty high.

It's been said numerous times that Spooner is untouchable. It was also reported it wasn't a Bruins AHL player going in the deal. Which means no Koko or Spooner.
