We don't need a Goalie, Cleary is old and it's going to be a low first.

Keep fishin'

Good thing there is no goalie in that offer then?

Nyquist is a winger.
First should be 16 to 22.

....There is no goalie involved in the trade.

As a wings fan I would do that all day every day, which should tell you that it's not close to even.

Gustav Nyquist is a winger and top prospect for the Wings.

I would propose something along the lines of

Filppula
Cleary
White
2nd rounder
B prospect

for

Gaborik
4th round pick

My mistake. Thought Nyquist was a goalie for some reason

Don't think that gets it done.
You would have to offer a prime time prospect.

Hey guys, here's a fun fact: did you know that there is no goalie in the proposal?

He made a mistake, he admitted he made a mistake...we can move past it now

I'd probably bite. Not really sold on Cleary though.

I don't think Gaborik will be moved at the deadline. Just from the vibes from the organization. He has been put back on Richards RW, which is where he belongs.
But if he is traded to the Wings, this is the parameters of a deal that has been discussed with Wings fans on these boards for weeks now.
One of Jurco/Tatar/Nyquist + Andersson + 1st for Gaborik.

No interest in Cleary, but still, I'm sold. Nyquist and a 1st for Gaborik? I don't think that's so bad, but I'm pretty high on Nyquist. Also, I think Gaborik would be amazing with Datsyuk.

I would do this.

If we got to UNLOAD an aging Cleary instead of GIVING UP a young Andersson, I would be all over it.

I know he still has a big payday coming next year, but how has Gaborik lost so much respect in the league? Is it just that he plays for the Rangers and people love to troll?

I know he has had a pretty bad year-(his job is scoring goals), but poor puck luck, switching sides, constantly up and down the lineup...this guy is still one of the best scoring wingers in the game. Even though he isn't scoring. you hold your breath when he gets the puck...

He is also one of those, great year, lesser year players...so in theory, next year, which is also a "tryout" for his next contract, you would think he would be very good.

Not saying anything bad about the Wing's proposals, I just think the Rangers should be able to pull a 1st and a decent prospect IF they trade him.

I also think that if he does go, it will be for a veteran player that can help now. It wasn't that long ago when the Rangers were viewed as a decent team that could make a run in the playoffs...

Considering you know absolutely nothing about Nyquist whatsoever (you thought he was a goalie....), how are you in any position to say you want more?

For the record, I would not want to give up Nyquist for a rental Gaborik.

But you did get a decent prospect

Nyquist is imo as close as you can be to being considered a blue chipper without actually being one, he's in the 2nd or 3rd tier of forward prospects and he will be at least a 50-60 point guy in his prime. Watching him he does great things with the puck, he does try to do a bit to much by himself, but I expect great things from him next year.

Is that not the offer? I'm pretty sure a PPG player over the past two seasons in the AHL is at least a decent prospect.
