different needs. Jagr has more skill but Iginla has more grit and leadership qualities. Boston can benefit more from Jagr than Iginla. Pens can benefit more from Iginla than Jagr.

Personally, I think Jagr is more valuable to us than Iginla. He is that type of player we didnt have before.

Plus, we kept Koko.

Seems like that's the theme of most recent trades.

With the cap going down teams just aren't going to trade top prospects it looks like.

so we got Jagr for essentially a second?

Cody Payne is a very good prospect. He was drafted as a very raw project but had a great year and produced all year when he wasn't buried in a very deep Plymouth line up. He'll have a huge year in junior next year. Dom (OrrOverGretzky on HF Boards and @dominictiano) is very high on him and he scouts the OHL. Payne is big, fast, tough and has skill.

No they didn't. You're just mad because the Habs didn't get him.

Jagr was made available only a few hours ago… and it's not like Dallas couldn't wait to have MacDermid on their roster…

I think people are forgetting Jagr is a 41 year old impending UFA.What did you expect him to return?

Good deal. Both bottom liners, but both guys could turn into 4th liners that can fight. I think Camara's growth as a prospect resulted in a glut of these types of prospects in their system, and Camara has a higher upside than both guys, thus making them expendable.

I'll say this as a Bruins fan...they've been downright horrifically boring to watch lately, even on nights they've won. I've found myself watching more Wild games than Bruins games as of late. I'm glad there's some new blood coming to the locker room.

Nice deal for Boston, a conditional 2nd rounder and their 19th and 20th rated prospects.

They still have the best pieces to deal if they choose to do it.

yeah, why don't teams just tank for five years after every cup run.

Nieuwendyk is slowly becoming the next Feaster with the potential of a Milbury.

They are only 3 points behind playoffs. If this is what you can get, then hold on to him and go for it.

I thought for sure I'd be reading that either Koko or Bartowski were headed to Dallas in this trade once it all finally shook out. Glad to see I was wrong about that. I think Boston got a very sweet deal on this one!

I like Mac, but he had trouble with half the light heavyweights in the AHL, and would be a super solid middleweight, but not a true enforcer. He is super physical and skates hard, so at least Dallas gets a legit tough winger. I haven't watched OHL in over a year so I don't know anything about Payne but who gives a crap, what a good deal for Boston.

I'm only worried Chia'll somehow feel the need to acquire Tomas Kaberle again.
