He's signed with the Caps apparently.

Gone to the Caps. We're striking out on these College FA's.

Guess he wanted to wallow in mediocrity with the Washington Capitals.

0 for 3 in college potential top 4 defenseman. Not good. This team really needs a PMD in the worst way. I suppose Gus will continue getting more minutes. He was effective getting the puck up ice on Sunday. Who knows if he can do that every game though.

I was really hoping for an under-the-radar signing of a PMD like Schmidt to give a bump to this team's defense. I wouldn't have cared if he played on the Flyers or Phantoms for this year or even starting next season. This is where Holmgren's attention should have been rather than his (ostensible) fixation on Clowe.

Crap! Now my only attention is hoping Holmgren doesn't deal away the 1st and/or youth for a too-expensive shiny toy.

Agree. There is nothing out there worth trading for right now since most of our tradeable assets are injured. If they could have moved Briere or Mez for an AHL D prospect or something that would have been worth it.

Would be nice to get him in the AHL for a look. I was pretty surprised he didn't get an offer. He was definitely in the top 5 of guys there and could really move up and down the ice.

Would be a project.

Not too good in his own end from what I saw.

TVR needs some work but he is definitely better defensively then Blake Kessel. Kessel doesn't know what defense is. For what its worth UNH did have the top PK unit in the nation and TVR was a part of that.
Hes definitely going to need some time in the AHL. Not going to deny that. But I think he is at least worth taking a look at. Sign him to a 2 year ELC. If you don't like what you see move along.
