I'll give you Gallagher but 5th rounders have a really really low chance of panning out as an impact player.

I've seen him play a lot.. very reliable. He's not going to wow you or anything, but he's not going to make you want to ring your neck either. No mistake hockey. He plays similar to St-Denis played for us last year, except he's not going to get pushed around either. Good first pass.

Best of luck to Whiskey with you guys. Was a very serviceable bottom pair/spare dman for a few years for us. No, he is NOT a mean defenseman as mentioned before. He's just a stay at home guy who can play that bottom pair and play a bit on the PK if REALLY necessary (not a guy you want to rely on, but can get the job done). Good character guy. Well liked in the room, never complained, and won a cup with us. Clearly a move of respect from Dean as he was loyal for year and was on his way out anyways with the emergence of Muzzin and trade for Regehr, so Dean traded him so he can get ice time somewhere else.

Kassian was traded for a pick a week after clearing waivers. Crazier things have happened, my friend.

to address DD44's nastiness..
when he came up that was not part of his game, as he got more comfortable in this league the bite is coming thru and he's been getting nastier as the years go on. Hope he works his way into your line-up love to watch his games on game center.

--but yes he doesn't make mistakes and can handle the speed of the NHL very well.

He sounds pretty much like Hal Gill in disguise. Also kind of looks like Gill with his numbers.

At Wisconsin he was teammates with Geoffrion, McDonagh and Patrick Johnson (former Hab draft pick). Haven't paid much attention to him but glad to see they added some depth on the blueline.

Depth move, nothing more. I doubt he replaces the current #6

I don't think Kabs is playing any more games this season(so he stays healthy for the buyout). Beaulieu might go back to Hamilton, and then there's Weber...and Diaz.

So about 8 once again. Solid for depth purposes.

Weber will be #7. Beaulieu is headed back to AHL soon(amaybe 1-2 more games) and Kaberle is mothballed so he doesn't get hurt unless someone comes knocking.

The way one scout described him he is a lot like Gorges.

I don't think Beaulieu is going anywhere for a while. Weber on the other hand is pretty gone.

Okay, so we got a Kings fan saying he isn't mean and another saying he sort of is - working it into his game.

I am le confused.

NO! Not our fifth round pick

But I quite like Drewiske, so I can't complain. Not really a mean player despite his size, but rather a very steady, smart defender. Adds depth, good acquisition.

Would have gotten Sarich as 7th D. At least there's some nastiness there.
