Define mean. He's not a Matt Greene, real nasty, use his body all the time, let you know you're there type. Yes he'll hit but I really wouldn't classify his play as mean. But solid defensively.

Bubble player, solid minor leaguer, marginal talent and skill for the next level.

It's sort of like getting Sarich/Regehr, but on the underappreciated/underrated side, and I think that's a great fit. He seems to be a good character guy, and if he can pair with Bouillon regularly, might emerge as a smart pickup. I like it.

They'd have to absorb his full salary if they picked him up via waivers, whereas they'd be able to negotiate Montreal paying part of his salary next year if he went by trade. I seriously doubt that'll happen, though. He'll be bought out this summer, more than likely.

A guy that will assert himself in front of the net and in corners, playing the body and not letting opposing players squeak by. Shove guys around a bit, get in their faces.

I don't expect him to drop a shoulder like Emelin but I think he can provide what I hope for in the paragraph above.

that, and in a trade, the other team would send salary our way probably.

I don't understand this move, he's left shot and doesn't play physical. Basically bench warmer for Kings last few seasons. Probably just a sign that he's going to replace our current #7s - Kaberle/Weber and they will be moved soon.

LA Mod on the main board said he can play the right side.

This is the sort of move I expected.

Well liked in the room, never complained, and won a cup with us. Clearly a move of respect from Dean as he was loyal for year and was on his way out anyways with the emergence of Muzzin and trade for Regehr, so Dean traded him so he can get ice time somewhere else.
This seemed something that Bergevin kept pressing on. He wants winners on our team and guys with winning experience.

Hab fans, Drewiske is a great pick up. Great guy in the room and a really solid player. Teammate of mine when I was at Wisco! #stee

Good Solid pickup. From what sounds of it he fills in our needs on the backend. Is he a UFA or is he signed for next season?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..... Not another DD on this team!

Kidding aside looks like a solid depth Dman for our playoff run.
Thanks to to LA Kings posters for the 411 on our new giant sized DD.

very good pickup, especially at the cost of just a 5th.

He has played 126 games since 2008, temper your expectations. He will probably just be a solid bottom pairing guy who gets the odd game.

Not sure if this has been said yet, but:

@HabsBlogger: Pierre McGuire raves about Davis Drewiskie. Praises "unbelievable work habits" of "a guy who wants to prove a point". Also mentioned it was a "home run depth acquisition".

Hey sounds good to me.

I'd prefer the pick to be a 4th round but whatever...

Kaberle? Really? He went through waivers last week. You think there's a GM that'll pick him up now. Not even Feaster or Joey N are that dumb.

Kings fan here.

I think you guys will like Drewiske. He's a solid and versatile defensenman that can basically fit anywhere in your bottom 2 pairings.

I think he just needs to get some more playing time under his belt to round out his game.

Heh. Nothing exciting, but decent depth to have I guess.

Hopefully we can move Weber for a 4th so we don't go 2 full rounds without a pick at the draft.
