OT: CBS Sportsline Top 50 players in the new NHL

http://www.sportsline.com/print/nhl/story/9600770

The only Hab in the list is Kovalev, at #33. However, the list is BS IMO.

Staal at #4 ahead of AO and Sid?
Selanne at #22?
Kipper not in top 10?
Brindamour at #24?
Forsberg at #19?

'nuff said.

Who ever made up that list has probably never even seen a sheet of ice, let alone a hockey game.

There are as many opinions as there are *********. No wonder everyone's got their own.

In the defense of this guy, this might be one of the toughest lists to come up with that I can think of.

I'd switch AO with Pronger...

It doesn't look so horrid and yeah try to make a top 50 ranking like this...some guys will always not agree with you.

You can't possibly make a good list after only 1 season of the new NHL. For all we know, maybe a couple of players played over their heads and maybe a couple had a tough season. I say let's wait for at least 3 complete seasons before making such list.

He may not be 8th- but he is way ahead of Markov. If Markov was a UFA- he would command value similar to Kubina- not even close to Chara.

Chara's contract is one of the worst I've seen in the history of the NHL. The guy isn't even a number one defenseman.

you must be kidding
he is great at both ends of the ice and could change the defensive make up of any team in the NHL.

For me, its a tough call. It all depends what type of D you want, Markov is alot less likely to make mistakes in his own end. Chara can clear the front of the net with ease. Offensively I think Markov is the go to guy there

Just checking out the Habs forum and OMG that list is crap.

Richards - 10
Ovechkin - 12
Heatley - 20

Of all people to be in the top 10...Richards? How can you include Richards and leave Healtey out? I'm also surprised Kipper didn't make it higher. Frig some people are ********.

I don't see myself anywhere on this. What a stupid list. I demand a re-do.
