I totally agree with you. Regehr just left Buffalo yesterday for a 2013 and a 2014 second draft pick. We certainly could have done better than Davis Drewiske to boost our def...

I like this trade, especially how the Kings fans are talking about him.

He used to be a second D on a number 1 seed team, then he took a knee to the head.

Let's stop complaining. This pick "wasn't" even supposed to be ours. This 5th rounder was supposed to go to Nashville in the Hal Gill deal, but since Blake Geoffrion didn't play 40 NHL games in the 12-13' season, the pick came back to us. So it basically came down to this;

TO MTL: Geoffrion, NSH 2nd Rounder (Dalton Thrower), Robert Slaney and Davis Drewiske
TO NSH: Hal Gill.

Put it in perspective. We're talking about 5th round picks here. Not second round picks. Yes TT has some flair in the later rounds, but if Marc Bergevin really feels Timmins magic, It won't be too hard to trade for a 5th.

You should do some research first and then actually wait for the player to play. Saves your posts from being quoted and laughed at when the guy actually turns out fine Just a little tip.

Anyways, this seems like a good move. We aren't in the position to sell the farm like Pitts, Boston or Vancouver so we just need to dig for some cheaper options. I like that Bergevin has been active and his named has been mentioned a lot in rumors. He is making smart choices. Don't know Drewiskie but he sounds like a pretty ideal #7 and he's from a great system. Looking forward to seeing him play!

Would have prefered a righty but yeah, pretty much this. Fills a hole without giving up anything significant.

Seriously? I don't think anyone's trying to claim he's a fighter....because he's not. I remember that game. Brown got ran and Whiskey was the first man in to stand up for his captain. He answered the bell. That's what good teammates do, even if it means losing a fight.

Pierre McGuire on TSN 690 was very impressed with this deal...said he is an EXTREMELY hard worker and a great stay-at-home depth dman. He said it was a great deal for a 5th round pick, and will fit very well on MTL.

I wonder if Therrien will play 7 defensemen or drop Beaulieu down...

Good inexpensive depth move. He has a Cup ring, knows his role and will really help.

I wouldn't worry about that guy. Some people here think any player sucks if he can't fight - it's embarrassing, actually.

Nice solid move seems like a good quiet trade... especially with big prices for Regehr etc...

Exactly. I like that we went for an under the radar guy that was available for a 5th round pick rather than going for an over the hill slow veteran that costs a 2nd round pick because he has a name and some experience.

I'll reserve my judgement until I see him play with us but I like the rationale behind it.
