exactly he is the type of player you need for the playoffs....

No way. Canucks played like garbage last season. Pens are rolling right now.

Clowe is a playoff beast. A team that gets him improves their chances drastictly.
Only if the price isn't super high.

2 2nds and a 4th is my guess!\

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 23s

IF all goes as expected, Clowe likely to be NYR. Expected price to be 2nd round pick, 3rd-round pick and conditional 2nd if he re-signs.

CLOSE!

No way in hell is Clowe worth a first or a good prospect. Maybe a 2nd and a B prospect.

Clowe is a rental who is having a statistically bad season.
Two 3rds and a prospect like Rodin/Sweatt/Sauve, or maybe Raymond instead of one of the 3rds, is the most I'd give up for him.

Honestly, the hatefest going on here is quite bizarre. Clowe is a valuable top six forward when he is on his game and he has his emotions in check. Seriously, some of you need to get your own emotions in check. Seriously, he is a fine fit in a puck possession system like Vancouver's. Great at protecting the puck with his body and perfect for a puck possession team because he also is an excellent passer. The Sharks simply don't have a need for him. They are big enough without him and need a different type of winger in their top six (speedy shooter). Couple that with his impending UFA status and you get why the Sharks are going to deal him. He can actually be a key piece for a team in the postseason. Don't be naive. In fact, I would be extremely hesitant to trade him to Vancouver.

Basically this. We don't have a 2nd anymore, so it scares me what else we might dangle.
