In that case, the difference between 29th and 26th isn't anywhere near enough for me to cheer against Iginla.

Yes and that is fine. But this started with a certain poster belittling me because I will not cheer for the Penguins. Stewie is just playing devils advocate and showing a reason that a fan may choose to not cheer for the Penguins.

No, I understand that perspective. If the Blues hadn't lottery protected their pick, I would most definitely be cheering for them to miss the playoffs, even though I do want to see Bouwmeester get in.

Exactly - now we have to cheer for them to sneak in, then lose in the first round.

For me it's a bit different, I just have no respect for the Penguins as an organization and as much as I would love Iginla to win a cup I would rather see him fail this year then sign somewhere else next season, so I can cheer him on and actually be happy when he wins a cup.

I'm no fan of Pittsburgh myself and I know where you're coming from with regards to the legitimacy of the Pens franchise. At the same time, I'm just hoping Iginla does well, and if that means the Penguins also get some success, well so be it.

I am just happy that I'm not being ripped apart for my opinion this time. There is nothing like being called a "little man" or a "troll" just because my disdain for the Penguins trumps my love for Iginla.

That seems over the top. I mean I'd never cheer for the Oilers or Canucks, regardless of who was on the team.

exactly! I understand everyone loves Iginla and everyone wants him to retire with a ring, but I am just more picky about where I want it to happen.

Which is entirely fair.

I felt the exact same way when I heard he was going to the Bruins. xD I can imagine how you would feel. I don't think that I would cheer him on for a cup if he was in a Bruin jersey to be honest.

Iggy had 2 assists in the Pens' 6-3 win. Played 17 mins, second in forwards to Malkin.

He's not got 1-3-4 in 6 gp now, not spectacular, but considering the huge change in his lifestyle and a difference in teammates and coaches, I think he's done well from what I've seen.

Also, he's 1 point away from 1100

I look at it like this: what has Pittsburgh done against me vs. What has Iggy done for me. We all know Pittsburgh hasn't done anything to you. Iggy on the other hand...

I am not going to compromise my personal views because 1 player was traded there no matter how much I like that player. 20 years disdain for a franchise won't be forgiven for a few months with my favorite player. Hopefully after a quick playoff exit Iginla signs with a franchise I can support him on and see him win there.

Why do you hate Pittsburgh so much? Maybe you mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I haven't seen your reason for hating them as much as you do?
