The fact we're comparing Brandon ****ing Prust to this guy goes to show how bad this board has been over the past few months. In ANY world Clowe is and always has been the superior player.

Interested to see what Clowe brings to us.

Oh you're right... If Clowe can come in and play his game He is better then Prust. But it is the element he brings. That's what this team has missed...

Clowe is a player that we envisioned dubi to become.. i know hes been off this year.. but exactly what someone else posted above.. ask the shark fans about the trade, what we're getting in a player, and how they feel about clowe.. bc clowe is to the SJ sharks as Prust meant to the rangers..

we will be pleased.. we need this badly and hes the a short term and long term option!! everyone should be pumped!!

I'm not say Clowe isn't better - he is on a different level... But the nastiness he will bring. That's where I'm comparing him to Prust. The Rangers have been very timid on the ice to me. Now we add that element - its needed...

and thats the point thats trying to be made.......toughness and spark plug style play. Thats what is seriously mssing from this team. On top of that, Clowe is 2-3 times more offensively talented than prust.

would love both to have been on this team though. it makes me think that there is another spark plug style player coming to the NYR. Dump pyatt and asham for anther power foward or big nasty D man. Adding some toughness and this team in closer to what it had last season.

Anyone else love the idea of a Clowe-Richards-Gaborik line? I sure as hell do.

What if Clowe comes here and turns soft??? Hopefully his toughness and grit will rub off on some of NYR and not the other way around. I love this trade. I hope Boyle and Pyatt are gone by tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do with us. I'm a fan of this if he is resigned. If not, I'm lukewarm, bordering on pissed at Slats for ponying up for a rental when we're just battling to get into the playoffs. But I think he brings exactly what this team has been lacking, even with a down year this year and battling through an injury (which based on what I've read, they think he's gotten over by now??).

omg omg omg!!!!!

he has no goals!!! seriously, hope he can replace some of the stuff we lost with prust. think that was the drive behind this trade. if it works and he resigns it was worth the picks. take it to the bank.

Not a Boyle fan, but we aren't deep enough at Center to move the guy.

Thanks for the optimism and wonderful insight.

Personally I think Clowe can help get Richie going (he always plays better with big/tough wingers) and can open up space for Gaborik, and maybe cash in on some rebounds.

But I'm all for being a Debbie Downer too.

And who replaces Boyle?

No one who wants Boyle gone can point out an ample replacement. Not one.

Complete stupidity.

Good lord.

You honestly think any of them can play 3rd line C?

Oh wait, you're going with Miller there, right? Jesus.

Wait till the last few games of the season and playoffs. Miller shouldn't be sniffing those minutes in those games. Him at 3rd line center is a recipe for disaster.

For the record, there's already a parody twitter account for Clowe. But seriously I think Clowe will make a nice impact right away with the Rangers.

i don't know anything about clowe. and all i'm seeing is videos of him fighting. i assume there's more to him, but the rangers don't need a goon. they need someone to actually step in when an opponent steps over the line. like when someone runs henrik or starts taking pokes at gabby or boards mcdonagh. staged fights are useless. again, i appreciate that clowe is probably that guy, but i'd love to see some video of that. assuming he is that guy, with mcilrath, we'll finally have a team that doesn't get eff'd-with. i hope.
