id say canucks slightly win the trade, but definitly not a bad deal for dallas either.

I love it. The Canucks have 5 defenseman who will be here long term. Corrado and Andersson have passed Connauton on the depth chart. There's only going to be one defensive opening over the next four years. It would have been very hard for Connauton to make this team.

I don't like giving up Connauton, but our defense is pretty set for the next 5 years, so it probably doesn't hurt too much.

Hopefully the Canucks can get Roy signed to a decent extension soon.

Great price to pay for a team in Vancouver's poition and decent return for stars. I know one of my friends who is a canuck fan, really liked Connauton.

Good trade.
Solid offensive ability but very questionable in his own end. Think of him as a slightly grittier version of Marc-Andre Bergeron.

Definately still a "work in progress" (re: NHL readiness).

Yes, he was a decent prospect but I have Corrado high ahead of him.

His defensive work was below average even for the AHL. Great PP player, but very slow. Probably like Jamie Oleksiak-lite 2.0

Gives the Canucks some good depth and allows them to move Kesler to wing if required. I don't know why they send Schroeder down to the Wolves; he had amazing chemistry with Hansen and Raymond for the few games that they were together. I think he will be back up here soon enough.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Higgins-Roy-Kesler
Raymond-Schroeder-Hansen

Booth is done for the season and I am not sure whether he will be back for the playoffs. Kassian should be left with the Wolves so he can get some big minutes and continue his development; he hasn't seen much ice time in Vancouver after the first dozen games or so. I think that is a solid top 9 group. The 4th line will be Lapierre centering two of Pinizzotto/Sestito/Weise/Ebbett.

Dallas will so much better with that 2nd at drafting than Van ever could have.

If AV goes to that lineup and Booth comes back, Vancouver is looking pretty good

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Higgins Roy Kesler
Raymond Schroeder Hansen
Booth Lapierre Kassian

When your 4th line can be sent out completely un sheltered that's a good thing

Dallas and Buffalo fans: How good is Roy defensively? Does he ever kill penalties? Can he play on the wing?

he was on our 2nd pk
he has skills for sure
against a heavy team like the kings etc
he gets knocked around and becomes a stick poker instead of a puck getter

good riddance

So we trade for a centre which we desperately need, and then play one of them on the wing?

Does.Not.Compute.
