No, Plzeň is leading 3-2 now. It's a best-of-seven series.

Hertl (#93) scored the 1st and 4th goals for Slavia (the team in red and white). The 4th goal which starts at 0:36 was a thing of beauty.

gonna be a dick and point it out, his 2nd goal was deflected by the defenceman.

Still a great shot considering he had no feet on the ice lol

Question for Jux and others who have been following the Hertl and the Slavia Praha games this year.

Has Hertl made any improvements in his skating since we drafted him? The original report on him was that he has to work on his first few strides. Any changes in that department?

His straight ahead speed seems much improved. Dunno about his agility, but he isn't a lumbering player. He's never going to be an above average skater, but average is looking very realistic.

Hes pretty light on his feet for a big guy. He isn't Ryan Kesler skating wise but hes better than advertised.

I watched the play about 5 times, I'm not seeing the deflection. Besides, the goal is much more impressive if you get to see the rush that led to it.

Im sure it is. And its really hard to see but it deflects off the tip of the dmans stick whose sliding to block the shot.

It doesnt matter I've seen clips of him snipe it top right from that spot. I know he can do it.

I'm gonna slightly disagree with you here. After watching him play, I think his skating is above average. Not nearly as much of a detriment as originally reported. Also, he has a Jagr-est stride and does very well on the boards for someone who hasn't completely filled out yet. When he puts on some more weight I think he's gonna be very tough to bordering on impossible to get off the puck. He's gonna be a superstud.

Keep in mind that Czech skaters tend to be slower than other nations' skaters. Hertl looks faster than other slow skaters.

Do you guys see him on Thornton's level for speed. Always thought Jumbo's skating is above average for a big dude.

Can Hertl sign an ELC, play in Worcester for the remainder of the season on an ATO and then be returned to the Czech league next season? Is that allowed in the new CBA?

It would burn a year on his ELC when he went back to Europe, so it would never happen.

25-28 April - most teams will have more or less world championship teams there, so it would be good experience for him
