Pominville
Conditional 3rd round pick (if he doesn't resign)

1rst round pick 2013
Prospect

(After trading Clowe for futures-hopefully a first round pick)

Awards:
Pominville is signed for another season after this one, so that conditional would be way off in the future.

You're gonna have a lot of Sharks fans that don't want to give that much up (inb4I'mwrong). And Buffalo will hate this deal to infinity.

I think this is bad value for the Sharks as well. I don't like the idea of giving up OUR 1st rounder AND a prospect for Jason Pomminville. Not saying he's bad,, but in the grand scheme of things, this doesn't help the us at all.

No. Sharks untouchables: Couture, Pavelski, Vlasic, Burns.

Just thought i'd get that out there before it got too far lol.

That's exactly his point. You don't deal your player for cheap, Sabres woN,t trade Pominville for cheap.

Pominville is worth 1st pick + 2 prospects minimum.

Why do we do this? We don't need Pominville and we should NOT be trading our 1st and a prospect.

No reason at all for the Sharks to trade for Pominville. Close 'er up before this gets ugly.

Sharks don't have the assets to trade for Pom. The picks or prospects we picked up for our rentals need to go to replenish our bare cupboards. His cap hit alone would also tie our hands next year. We'd have to jettison another of our big salaries (besides clowe) Love to have him, but don't see it happening.

First off San jose has $9.6 million In cap space left to sign 9 more players and Pominvilles cap Is $5.3 million how in the world can San Jose afford to take on Pominvilles contract with out shedding salary to Buffalo It's Impossible It would have to be roster player for roster player.

"Are we going to give up first- or second-round picks in a draft that's viewed as very strong? The answer is no. This is the time that we're going to replenish in a very strong draft year. But if there's younger players that can fit into what we're trying to do and how we're trying to play, I have no problem acquiring that maybe in lieu of a pick."
That's what Doug Wilson said today. Pominville is a good player that could certainly help a contender, but he doesn't fit where the Sharks want to go.

I think you might have forgot to watch Clowe this year.He has 0 goals this year and only 60 goals in his last 261 games since 09-10.He is worth nowhere near Pominville, unless that + is a 1st and a top prospect.

As for this proposal, No.Pominville is worth far more then this.He is a legit 1st line RW and the 8th highest scoring RW since the lockout. He is a great PKer and a complete two way player who is also our captain. He is the best player available at this deadline taking into consideration age and production.

Jason Pominville averages 26 goals and 65 points a season.Comparing him to the closest Shark in term of production would be Pavelski, and he averages 26 goals and 58 points a season. So Pominville averages 7 more points a season and there is only a 2 year age gap, so yes Pominville has similar value to Joe Pavelski, so Shark fans if you think Poms for a 1st and a prospect is fair how about you take the same for Pavelski.Oh, you don't think it's enough?Well there's your answer from Buffalo about Pominville.

forget that, you get no conditional pick

you might want to consider the salary cap here as well..though you have unloaded salary. However, you don't have much to work with, perhaps we can take Galiardi, T.J. or a different RFA.

2nd, Sean Kuraly, Dylan DeMelo and a salary dump
for
Poms and a 5th

God you sound as if us sharks fans were all over this deal. Calm down.

We don't need Pominville. Yes he's a quality player, but we have plenty of those. We need youth and future, like Wilson is finally admitting.

Sharks need to keep their draft picks and their top prospects, because Pominville would certainly warrant Hertl as a return.

They have one of the worst, if not the worst prospect pool. Time to stop subtracting, and start adding.

Pominville is a great player and all class and I would love to trade for him I we were a cup contending team that needed one more piece to win a Stanley Cup, but that's not the case, and in three years (the quickest we'll ever be a contender again IMO), Pominville will be getting up there. Rather get some young players.

That's a misconception.

Not the best, no, but Hertl, Nieto, Freddie Hamilton, Sateri, Stalock, and Tennyson are all decent prospects at the very least.
