Tell me you have magic beans?
As a Habs fan, I want to agree, fist-pumping and all, but the Bruins have depth. They can beat you solid because they can play 18 skaters and a goalie each of whom is just good or great in some cases -- like that Nordique-loving bastidge Bergeron.

Anyway, my point is that I would be more enthusiastic as a Habs fan if Jagr had been acquired as a true centrepiece. But he's not. He's going to be bring unique talent and skill and experience to what is already a Cup contender. There's no question in my mind that he makes a good team unpredictably better because he is an X factor going into the playoffs.

I've hear told stories of some guy named Hannu knowing his whereabouts...

Dallas signed Jagr as a UFA and he will be a UFA...they turned him into potentially a 1st and added two prospects...one, Lane, who has paid his dues in the AHL is a perfect fit for the small Dallas team. All they have up front is Nystrom and Rousell.

I think he thought you were Paul Allen. In any event, let's just hope we get to see a Boston-Pittsburgh series, one of the big reasons I'm pumped to see this trade.

When all is said and done its either Jagr for a 2nd or a late first. Why do people try to say "omg boston paid so much!!!"

My hope is that he is a gritty guy that can help us not get sqaushed around like the kings did to us the other night. that was embarassing

MacDermid should help with that, he can be a tough customer.

I'd argue Jagr is a better pick for Boston than Iginla. He'll turn a pretty awful pp into a potent one. Plus jeeze I can't imagine the horror of having both a chara and Jagr slapshot on the point. That'll definitely free up some space for guys down low.

Jagr will also be no slouch at even strength either.

I can't recall Jagr ever playing anywhere other than along the wall. Not sure why you're assuming he will be on the point on the PP.

As a Stars fan I'm less than pleased with the prospects in the deal. They couldn't appear more generic if they tried. Guess I'm a Boston fan now hoping they fulfill the conditions on the draft pick.

MacDermind went with Rupp in his first career game. Tough customer.

This trade looks far too similar to that of the Kaberle trade. Bruins will win the cup and trade their 1st and Jagr will be UFA or retire. Win-win for both sides.

He didn't really play the point, but during his time with NY he would set up in between the point and the circle for one timer. Shouldn't have used the word point....what I meant was having two slapshot options like that is scary.

Why is Dallas selling?

I knew Boston wasn't done.

Any other word on that 5th rounder from Boston being involved or not?

Nice deal for the Bruins.
Macdermid is a decent tough guy and 4th liner, will Payne even make the NHL?

Ya, because having those players is a shoe-in to win the cup. You know, all of the 1 championship season between the three of them.

Ohh, jeeze.

I've been trying to figure this out myself; they hit a 3 game win streak and BOOM they're pretty much in, why give up?
But the organization has decided to bite the bullet, not put the stress on their team and look to the future.

Ouch. This is a very nice consolation prize. Good news is that we only have 1 regular season game against the Bruins.
