Sometimes you gotta drop the mitts.

I'll always remember the fight him and Prust had at the Rangers/Sharks game on 10/31/11 MSG. What a battle.

He's gonna have to be the big dog around NY especially if Asham is on the way out and with the way the East is and how people run Henrik.

The only other tough guys in the organization are Michael Haley a middleweight, and Dylan McLIrath who at earliest will be up next year.

Clowe AINEC

I was never too hot on Murray, obviously wish him well though

One instance that might bring some nostalgia to Sharks fans was in the 1991 Expansion Draft when San Jose selected Tim Kerr and the Rangers traded Brian Mullen for him. Kerr was 31 going on 32 at the time and was basically finished.

I also remember watching Graves here have a decline that kind of just happen overnight and then he was traded to San Jose.

Hopefully he can keep it going and be vintage Clowe. He's gonna get right into it battling Murray and Orpik tomorrow night and then Phaneuf in a few games.
He's not done.

LOL I can totally see Murray pull a Hulk-Hogan-to-nWo move on Cooke and leg drop him on the ice

DW hit home runs with the Murray and Handzus trades as far as I'm concerned, and this is a fair deal

I'm actually fine with not adding any more roster players this season and just using call ups...

if we use the draft picks right, we either flip some into a top-6 winger, or upgrade our system from "worst in the league" to "bottom-3rd worst"

Why are people complaining about the Clowe deal? I would have given him up for a bag of pucks and thought we robbed the other team.

Iginla for a first, and two "B/C" level prospects.

In comparison, the Clowe trade looks great. There is just the idea that DW could have gotten more for him had he dealt him sooner. Maybe Clowe choose NYR (2nd, 3rd, cond) vs Vancouver (1st plus Jensen)...

Anyone know if Ryan Van Stralen (LW) of the OTTAWA 67'S has been drafted? I think he was draft eligible last year but don't see that he was picked. He seems like a DW pick.

6'3, 202, apparently plays both LW and RW. 16G, 23A, 88 PIM, -28

Seems like a Clowe replacement right there.

I had a dream that he was traded for two second round picks and a first round pick. But it was revealed just after that they meant "two lately picked first rounders" and a first round pick.

To CHI:

Ryane Clowe

To SJ:

Brandon Saad
Teuvo Teräväinen
2013 1st round pick

I can tell you it was a nice dream.

Farewell, Clowe. Always liked you.

And no, Saad is not a first round pick. Had to check.

Not drafted according to HockeyDB and I trust that site.

Clowe is killing it right now. 1 goal 1 assist and hitting everything. Had an assist on our first goal but they took it away because of a deflection.

What'd I say yesterday? It's Fleury so go pot some goals. Re-sign him Sather! I'd like a 2nd round pick.

Not sure if I consider Clowe a top 6 forward anymore.

When he was a hard nosed fighter who was never expected to amount to anything else, he got put on a line with Joe Thornton as an experiment. He actually had better hands with the puck than scouts gave him credit for and JT helped him unlock hidden potential. When and how to get open and make space for yourself and when to have your stick on the ice. More importantly, Clowe learned from JT how to protect the puck with his big body. He started doing these subconsciously and it became a part of his game.

Clowe emerged out of nowhere and people assumed his numbers would drop once he was no longer on the first line. Not only did he continue producing, but he became a key player on any line he was on. And he played with an edge all teams love to have.

Last year, a noticeable difference in his game was apparent. He seemed to have started losing the little lessons he learned playing alongside JT. He was not the same player he had been the past 3 years. Holding his stick too tight. Instead of doing the things subconsciously , he looked like he was having to think about everything a lot of the time.

This year, it seems like he has completely lost it. I am not sure if he can relearn it again. Maybe a change of scenery will help
