We're not subtracting to our core for prospects and 3rd/4th liners. The 2nd is the best thing coming back to us.

How is Foligno included in your core? He's a good secondary piece and the return for your team is certainly fair. A 2nd pick , not to mention Leblanc has top 6 potential and Moen will be a glue guy giving you grit and toughness, signed for 3 years to go too.

Then what are you trading away those guys for? You keep them, CBJ keeps Nick, all is well.

Habs need Boll for 3-4th line duty.

If Montreal had offered this to Ottawa last year, I'd have taken it and run away laughing. As good as Moen is, he is worse than Foligno, but add in a second and it evens up. Adding Leblanc, a former 1st round pick, is crazy overpayment.

This is not the time for Columbus to be trading roster players for futures, but the value certainly is there.

Foligno is part of the core because he is part of the definition of what the CBJ is trying to build. YOu don't have to be a top line player or generatational talent to be part of a team's core. Moving an important piece for a downgrade, a prospect and a pick does nothing but extend the process. We know what we have in Foligno and like it. No harm, no foul but this is not a good move for columbus

Leblanc could be a first line two-way threat.
Moen is a little downgrade offensively, but he his what you described.

Heh, you've had a whole lot of HF Negativity Kool-Aid, right ?

Everybody is writing off Leblanc like every body wrote off Eller, Patches, Plekanec, Price and Others.

The guy is still really young and his only real issue (aside from shot and skating) are coaches not liking him in the AHL.

Could be.

We know what Foligno is and see little reason to take a risk on Leblanc.

I like Foligno. He works hard and is part of the identity that the Jackets are trying to build. I just don't like the idea of trading for prospects and picks and hope that they work out...

Would CB bite if Bergevin out of desperation, offered a 2nd for Jared Boll?

Value doesn't exist in a vacuum. Offer is for something CBJ doesn't want to trade and offers a bunch of stuff in return CBJ doesn't want. That's not value. Posters can put on their salesmens hats all they want but that doesn't change.
