110% tonight

I don't know if it has been posting yet or not but tonight in 110% they will speak of a big trade rumor between MTL and PITTSBURGH. Apparently, we would get Malkin by giving Aebischer Ryder Ribeiro and Sourray. I don't believe it but i can't wait to see what they will say about it!

This "rumour" has been known about for a few days now (yesterday?).

No, it's not.

As in, it's not something PJ Stock invented out of the blue.

But who do you think winsin this trade? Some people say pittsburgh would never accept but in my opinion we give too much. Sure he is good but if this is what it takes well forget it. Unless we take him and go pick up Dumont from the Free Agents.

Habs would win this trade even if we added a key prospect.

The rumour PJ Stock spread also mentioned a 1st round draft pick.

Souray - UFA
Aebischer - UFA
Ribeiro - Who cares?
1st Rounder - Dude, it's Malkin
Ryder - It hurts to lose him but Malkin has superstar potential

It's pretty easy to see who wins.

I'm actually watching 110% for the first time here. Who is the blonde guy? I agree with what he's saying.

Well he said those rumours are guys wishing things and starting them out of the blue.

But I think Gagnon may be talking out of his butt because this one seems to have more legs than others. Not as in "makes sens" legs but more like serious people taking it seriously.

I think if the Habs made an offer, I don`t see the players mentioned involved(esp not Ribs or Aebischer). They will have to plunder their line-up with more players with the important guys and the best prospects. Krostynin and Gra..something, definitly(to compensate for a young guy like Malkin leaving). Chipchura also. Markov. Komisarek. Higgins. If Pittsburg would get these guys you`re talking about 6 more bodies, character and talent and that`s for many years to come given their age.

That would hurt like Hell for the Habs. But to get something you have to give something. And Gainey is not a novice at doing the unthinkable(trading Iginla to get Neiwendyck).

I'm sure that Michel Bergeron would still rather have Dumont instead of Malkin. Yes, he is that DUMB. As for the rumour, if Pittsburgh are willing to trade Malkin, they would ask for guys like Ryder, Chipchura, Higgins, Komisarek, Kostsitsyn and Markov.

Thornton went for that package because only a few teams could afford to pick up his salary at that time of the season. Every single team can afford to add a 20 year old making 850,000. that means a 30 team bidding war. 30 teams did not bid for Thornton.

and while I might be pushing it saying all 30 teams would bid, at least 15-20 would make offers then they would be played off themselves. How many teams went after thornton??? To have a chnace to add the next Crosby or AO every single team would fit him in their salary cap.

This is also the reason the Penguins may want to trade him now, he will have his most value right now when he is not making 6-8 million.

quick question for ya...your the GM of the Caps or Pens...would you have traded Crosby or AO before they played an NHL game for what Montreal is offering??? no, you would expect more than I expect for Malkin...right???

exactly
for the thornton deal, the sharks unloaded around 5.6 million in contracts to pick up 6.6 million of thornton's contract. i'm sure there were quite a few teams with atleast a million dollars in cap space to pick up thornton.

Why move Malkin

Maybe because they can't afford FLEURY, CROSBY, STAHL ..... and the future with Malking (Russia, IIHF, NHL) is not as clear as it should be right now.
