He's not a rental, so we'd have to add a real prospect.

The Jets are shopping Alexander Burmistrov. He could move today.
SunGarrioch

Yes, please. Not too realistic, though.

They're trying to get rid of their rookie? Why? Is he their best piece to buy with?

edit - not a rookie, but a kid who's barely 21. It seems soon.

Isn't Garrioch pretty unreliable?

Somewhere in between, I'd say. But I'll take him for the slow moments today.

That's what I was thinking, but with the cap going down next year, teams might be a little more willing trade players that are signed next year.

He alwys have loved it i guess.

His twitter background is still a photo with Ducks teammates on the parade. Obviously was a nice period for his career too.

I'm kind of looking forward to find out what Holmgren has in mind for today. Could be fun.

I am still waiting for the the annual "the prices are too high" speech from Barstool.

Not that I would be totally disappointed with that but it is funny that he says it every year it seems.

Just like on UFA day when he spouts off his annual "we were surprised everyone signed so quickly" quote he trots out every year.

Maybe he'll take Murray up on Bobby for Couts and Schenn.

Hi guys, finally decided to join the trade deadline threads on this forum after lurking for a long time.

About Burmistrov, since it really isn't working out for him currently in Winnipeg, how would you feel about a prospect or maybe our first round pick for him? He's closer to being an impact NHLer than most pieces we have.

Well, if he absolutely has to. Okay.

If there's one (currently active; yes I made that addition for you, Mr. Milbury) GM I'd think capable of that, it would be Holmer. Who I don't think is purely bad / insane. But he seems to make decisions the way he looks. Like a Dirty Harry lookalike. Short fuse. Act upon instinct. Kill witnesses later if needed.

It's going to cost us more than that. They want a top six player.

As much as I would love Burmistrov he'd be more of a novelty on his team. He's not really a 2C yet either. A change of scenery would do him best but he really would just be filling the same role as Holland/Bonino. Not worth it for the Ducks IMO. However, he could turn out to be an extreme steal for someone.

Depends on the prospect, obviously. But I don't think any of our prospects would fetch him, aside from Lindholm, who I wouldn't deal. I'd probably trade the 1st, as well, for him, but our scouts would be the better ones to answer. But with us projecting to pick no earlier than 20th, it seems like a stretch to get a better prospect even this draft. Would be a bit surprised if it's a pick they are looking for. I would have to guess they want a young player that just brings something different, along the lines of Hodgson for Kassian last year. Or an actual clear upgrade, obviously.

Welcome aboard

I think he might have a potential but Bob is most likely looking for more experienced center. We have some youngsters ourselves. What we need is 2C for this and maybe next season.
Although, i think Burmistrov could be worth to take for the right price.Would not like to give up 1st though

Burmistrov is crazy talented, but for some reason it's not been working for him in Winnipeg, I think he's been scratched occasionally this season. I'm not sure what's the issue there. He's become more of a defensive, third line type center though, but he's capable of making amazing plays.

Exactly. And he's remarkably physical for a talented Russian, as well. 76 hits this year, which is more than Getzlaf, with fewer minutes. To be taken with a grain of salt, since the standard for what constitutes a hit is very subjective and differs from arena to arena, but I think it shows a tendency, to say the least.

People amaze me sometimes. This one guy on twitter said Lydman for McDonald is a fair deal... yeah, maybe if St. Louis didn't already have 9 Defensemen on the big club. Why would they trade a top 6 forward for a Dman who can't even beat out Ben Lovejoy for a spot?

Most people are pretty oblivious to what other teams actually need. Or other's players' values. The place, as absurd as that seems some days, is actually pretty comfortable in that regard. Never quote me on that, though.
