I have a hunch they are searching for 2 Dmen, not just 1.

We knew they were searching for a potential top 4 RD.

They also need a LD to replace Hamrlik IMO, no way he is sniffing significant ice time, this would definitely be a rental until Staal is back.

But one thing at a time.

Glencross is signed for 2 more years. Ott has another year left. The Rangers are facing a cap crunch with the $64.3M cap.

I think EJ would be #1 on my list, but again, the prices are likely to be way out of our range.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Kings add a winger for their second line. They'd prefer a LW, but they'll be good either way.

RT #tradetracker Keep an eye on the Philadelphia Flyers pursuit of Keith Yandle He is a dynamic defenseman @RealKyper @JeffMarek @JSportsnet
Would make sense for PHX to ask for Couturier.

They said they want a LW, but they wouldn't need to get a LW. Could be a RW.

Rangers should be calling Winnipeg about Burmistrov right now.

Why? He's a talented floater who does great figure 8's on the ice. Pass for me, unless it's for Pyatt.

The thing is, what do the Rangers have to give up for an upgrade?

They're pretty much done with giving up high draft picks. Eminger, Boyle, Pyatt, Powe and Gilroy have little value. How are they going to get an upgrade for those guys? I can see a team taking Pyatt for a solid 5th/6th defenseman thinking Pyatt can score 30 points again.

This team is still a Cup contender. If they're looking to upgrade on the blueline, no way do they weaken their top 6 for an upgrade.

The only thing I see is the Rangers giving up prospects. They can do that, but how are they going to restock? Granted, we do have young guys like Kreider, Hagelin, Stepan, McD, Staal, etc...

Burmistrov would be a dream, but he will cost a lot I'd imagine

Would be good for us. Philly gives up a solid two-way center for a defender who's lousy in his own end.

From the games I have seen, I wouldn't classify him as a floater. Quite the opposite. Engaged physically, good defensively, good hands.

If I remember from Avs fans, they say he's a 5th pairing defenseman
