When do we ever hear anything out of the Sabres before a deal happens? That's the most tight-lipped organization in human history.

Start at 2PM EST.
Maybe Darcy, coaches, & staff have last night's game on continuous looping replay, have ordered subs, wings, and pizza for everyone, and have put all the phones under the couch cushions so they can't hear them ring.

\

They moved early with #3 and #24 to keep their heads clear and options open for last couple days. If nothing further happens, I for one can believe it's not because they weren't willing nor tried (further).

Wasn't the Kassian Hodgson trade announced after the 3:00 pm deadline last year? I expect the flurry to start around noon and extend to 3:30

i got see a lot of Burmi in his ATL season, even then as an overmatched 18 yr old you could see the D IQ/Positioning that had him compared to Dats (even if unfairly) and he plays larger than his frame. Offensively he still dangles too much/floats in space but that can be worked on as he continues to develop. Just 21 with 184gms under his belt.

not sure what the dynamic is in WPG, he wasnt one of Chevys picks, so that could be part of the issue too as far his doghouse days go.

could be the homer in me being a former ATL fan too, but I've always liked what I've seen from him and his potential moving foward.

I would say go until about 4:30. Last year they were still coming in quite a while after the deadline.

What flyingpig said. Some trades still may not be announced until slightly after the deadline. More likely if Regier is involved.

Other than his agent, who could a 'source close to Vanek' possibly be that would have any credible, up to date info on the situation? I hate those tweets.

My point is, I don't believe buying teams will change their offers that dramatically in the last couple hours. If there truly are 3-4-5 suitors for, e.g., Pomms, then one of them has to up the ante now or risk losing out to another suitor. You can't wait until 2:45 in the afternoon to give your best offer. It's time to fold or raise now.

If Darcy makes no more moves, my reaction will be influenced by what other deals were made today. If it's very light and no big deals happen, it will be hard to blame him too much.

It really doesn't matter. Vogl is very credible and doesn't talk out of his ass.

This happened last year too if I imagine. Nothing until later in the afternoon.

Right, but why would they know what Darcy is doing, if Vanek himself supposedly doesn't know?

I'm not saying Vogl is making **** up, but I see those kinds of tweets and figure he might as well have asked Vanek's postman.

They don't. All it is was their gut feeling, and most people have that feeling. Doesn't mean much of anything.

I think Darcy would probably talk to his players about them being maybe on the move today and he maybe hasn't talked to him.

So maybe that's why they'd be surprised if he's moved.
