Not that anyone should have thought differently, but:
Over/Under on when people start complaining that the Sabres haven't done anything today?
Start at 2PM EST.
Maybe Darcy, coaches, & staff have last night's game on continuous looping replay, have ordered subs, wings, and pizza for everyone, and have put all the phones under the couch cushions so they can't hear them ring.
They moved early with #3 and #24 to keep their heads clear and options open for last couple days. If nothing further happens, I for one can believe it's not because they weren't willing nor tried (further).
i got see a lot of Burmi in his ATL season, even then as an overmatched 18 yr old you could see the D IQ/Positioning that had him compared to Dats (even if unfairly) and he plays larger than his frame. Offensively he still dangles too much/floats in space but that can be worked on as he continues to develop. Just 21 with 184gms under his belt.
not sure what the dynamic is in WPG, he wasnt one of Chevys picks, so that could be part of the issue too as far his doghouse days go.
could be the homer in me being a former ATL fan too, but I've always liked what I've seen from him and his potential moving foward.
When do we ever hear anything out of the Sabres before a deal happens? That's the most tight-lipped organization in human history.
My point is, I don't believe buying teams will change their offers that dramatically in the last couple hours. If there truly are 3-4-5 suitors for, e.g., Pomms, then one of them has to up the ante now or risk losing out to another suitor. You can't wait until 2:45 in the afternoon to give your best offer. It's time to fold or raise now.
