It's not even sure they will relocate to Quebec, might as well be Seattle or something
Hence the term "uncertainty".

Why would we want to do this for Yandle? We wouldnt ship a 1st and a couple of low level prospects for J-bo. No way we send all of this for Yandle.

So? Either your team re-locates to other city in the U.S or you're really unlucky and get relocated to quebec and have to pay a bit more taxes....it's not the end of the world, it's a bit more in taxes, they still make tons of money.

I don't know about your circumstances but most people don't like paying taxes. A 10-20% paycut is significant.

Detroit would like a defender that can actually play defense.

So no, no interest in Yandle. Period.

Agreed, Kronwall, Smith, Kindl and Cola are all offensive minded D-men with Sproul going to GR and waiting in the wings. We need guys that can play solid defense.

You stat geeks are incredible. You've actually seen Yandle play, too, so you have no excuse (unless you just became a Wings fan last season, of course).

Because he's not used as a defensive specialist does not mean he's poor defensively. That's the kind of absurd reasoning folks develop when they worship numbers. The Coyotes have Klesla, Morris, and Michalek. Of course they try to utilize Yandle as much as possible in offensive situations. It's called intelligent coaching.

Yandle is good defensively (save for the occasional highlight reel worthy blunder...ooh boy...)

Neither fan base seems very interested, probably best for us both to look elsewhere.

If that really is such a big deal then ask for 500k more per year or something so it don't hurt as much then.

That's fine in saying that but that doesn't correlate to the type of contracts normally signed by Phoenix. They aren't a team that signs high priced UFA's. We normally look for value signings.

So back on point, why would Maloney move Yandle for a pending UFA when if they had the cash they could just overpay for as a UFA? Does that seem like something Maloney would logically do?

Yandle is younger and cheaper.

One, I don't think the Wings have any use for a Kindl if we get a Yandle.
Two, Ouellet is a great prospect. But will be of Yandle's caliber?

Honestly, I'd trade Brendan Smith and a First for Yandle.

How good is Smith going to be? Only 3 years age difference?

Can't hit his way out of a wet paper bag and his turnover rate is ridiculous. Once again, zero interest. Especially at that price.

If that's the asking price (in terms of value) for Yandle then I want no part of him.

Do not want Yandle. Not great defensively and would much rather wait to see what we have in Ouelett and Sproul.

One side doesn't the player, and the other side doesn't want him. I think we're done here.
