Probably not that likely to be traded.
Why would we be interested in that? We'd be taking a lot of potency out of the center depth we have. Markov-Subban-Diaz-Beaulieu-Kaberle. I think we're fine on the PMD side of things.

Markov isn't going to be around THAT much longer. I love Eller, but Yandle is a legit top-20 guy.

Yandle + Subban?

He'd have the absolute best 1-2 punch in the NHL.

No way I would do the Eller/1st/Beaulieu on the last page. But I would do Eller + our 1st, at most... which I'm sure Phoenix would decline anyway.

If Galchenyuk was a couple years into development, I'd move Plekanec in a deal for Yandle, but Galchy is so raw.

At this point my list is Ryan Jones, Boyd Gordon and Raffi Torres.

We still need a big, tough D but I don't see any available that I would want to trade for.

Absolutely no Ribeiro. He's a soft playmaker, not a playoff player. No surprise that every team he goes to is or becomes a loser.

The first thing that happened, with 3.5 hours left, is a confirmation that a trade isn't going to happen...

If Kipper is willing to retire at the end of the season then why dont he just agree to move for a couple of months and get a chance to win the cup?

His wife just gave birth to a baby, that's why.

The next few hours are going to be about Luongo to Toronto constantly. Lovely.

By the time Markov is ready to retire Beaulieu will be ready to play on the top PP with Subban.

When Markov exits.. Beaulieu steps in.. all we need then is for one of Thrower, Dietz, Ellis, Nygren or Bennett to develop and we'll be fine. There's no one else in the pool, save Galchenyuk moving back to center (when DD is gone or moved to wing), to alleviate loss in the center position.

Sure maybe, but Beaulieu will never be as good as Yandle overall - and I'm high on Beaulieu.

But then you have to ask yourself.. is the drop off from Yandle to Beaulieu worth Eller and a 1st?

I doubt it highly.

You won't have to worry about that. PHO and the NHL would not trade an all-star dman for Lars Eller. The league would nix it.
