THIS DATE IN FLYERS' HISTORY: April 3, 1980 Capitals 2 at Flyers 4

Reggie Leach's (3-0-3) eighth NHL hat trick included his 50th goal and Bobby Clarke (0-4-4) had four assists in the Flyers' 4-2 home win. Leach's 49th goal gave Philly a 3-2 lead early in the third period followed by his 50th into an empty net. The Caps led 2-0 in the first period and held the margin until late in the second period. After two separate fights, the Flyers scored twice in the next 5:11 to tie the game 2-2 aided by a 22-6 shots advantage in the middle period. Ex-Flyer Wayne Stephenson made 42 saves for Washington. The loss, in the Capitals' second-to-last game of the season, severely damaged the team's attempt to secure the franchise's first PO berth as they battled Vancouver and Edmonton, both of whom ultimately prevailed, for the final two spots; the Oilers faced the Flyers in the opening round.

Today's practice is about to start. Any further changes and updates will be made once they are issued.

Nick Grossmann is skating but in a no-contact jersey.

Basically, substituting McGinn for Talbot but as currently being used at practice:

Good to see Couturier is out there on the ice.

I can't see Briere playing again this season. Even if he says he's healthy after the deadline, why put him out there and risk another concussion that might prevent the Flyers from buying him out.

Agreed. Unfortunately, I think Holmgren would have to do the same thing as Marc Bergevin did with Scott Gomez: "Go home for the rest of the season. We'll deliver your cheques to you."

Did I miss the "let's tank" bandwaggon?

going to try the reverse jinx from last game..

expecting to come home to find the Flyers behind due to a early lead by Les Habs..

followed up by a 5-1 loss..
