Didn't SJ want to get faster?. Hannan is slower than molasses.

This. Plus, San Jose is familiar to him and he should feel comfortable being back. Could get him to play loose and do just fine. We shall see.

Nashville sends Hannan to San Jose for a conditional 6\7th round pick. #tradecentre

Budget being tight after that Weber offer sheet, the bag of pucks will really help the Preds out.

Conditional 6th/7th. I'm fine with it. He's garbage now but he'll probably be the #7 and is just there for depth.

Historical significance. But he's awful now. We got rid of Murray for a reason DW. Hope Demers enjoyed his week of getting the playing time.

correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Hannan on the IR? Therefore making him ineligible for trade? I might just be speaking crazy talk though

I feel better about this after hearing that it's just a conditional 6th/7th.

Where are people getting the idea that you cant trade injured players.

David Pollak ‏@PollakOnSharks now
#SJSharks conditional deal for Hannan: NSH gets 7th round pick, but if he sees action in a playoff game, that moves up to 6th.

Hopefully the condition isn't "Hannan must be on the ice for less than 70 percent of goals against, for the remainder of the season," because I think we may not get anything in return

Since Hannan and Murray are effectively the same player these days, Wilson really just turned a 6th round pick into two 2nds.
@HarrisonMooney

This does kind of make the Murray deal look that much worse haha

See: Fraser, Colin and Steve Tambellini

But I suppose the reasoning here is both sides know what they're getting?

What was weird about the IR was he was cleared to play right before they placed him on IR, almost like they just put him there to make room on the roster.

I like this deal for both teams.

San Jose gets depth defense for a playoff push, Nashville gets something to have him taken off their hands.
