If he scores a Satan-esque big goal on the fourth line in a game, it's all worth it.

can't see them being too cheap to buy him out.

how does the salary retention work when the player is traded for a 2nd time?

Only worry I have is chemistry. I love the deals (coming around with Jokinen as I didn't at first) though.

As mentioned. Theres familiarity there with Sutter, Morrow, Neal.
Great faceoff guy. Can play with skill. Can PK. Can center or wing.

Last playoffs he played in 18GP 11Points.

If Crosby or Malkin or Sutter go down, gives us some depth at center.

Is there any chance any gm out there has a hard-on for Mr. Kennedy (shhh and his salary???)...

Wouldnt be surprised at all if Shero was working on something as we type.

The Pens have started building their B team. I think that they believe that they have a better chance at the cup if they put two teams on the ice this year.

I like this deal a lot !

I don't like his contract though. Even Canes retain 50%, which is max, it's $1.5M cap hit for the next season.

That could make a problem to re-sign Dupuis AND Iginla, unless we trade, eg. Orpik, which I don't see TBH, or we buy Jokinen out after the season.

I always wanted Jokinen, but now that we are loaded with guys... IF JJ could be a 60 point player again, then:

Kunitz - Crosby - Iginla
Jokinen - Malkin - Neal
Morrow - Sutter - Dupuis
Cooke - Kennedy - Adams

On paper it looks like a multi orgasm.

Didn't realise that Jokinen was that good on FOs, definitely could come in handy.

Another thing all these trades do: gives Shero a lot of flexibility this summer potentially.

IMO Kennedy is toast. If we keep even two of these guys around, we can't afford to keep Kennedy on a new contract at a salary comparable to his current one.

I like it. He has to be hungry for some playoff actin again..he hasn't been there since 09 when we best the canes in the ECF. He had 7 goals 4 assists in those playoffs. 3 g 3 a against the bruins the series before

I agree. We actually have too many depth players now. One of the younger guys (vitale/jeffrey), TK, or Glass you'd think would be on the move.

They could just send him to the minors. They always seem to like a Sterling type that is more skilled and a bigger ticket. Obviously JJ makes a fair bit more but it's still an option

I'm sure Shero won't put himself in a postion where he isn't able to re-sign Iginla because of Jussi Jokinen.

you can only bury like $950k in the minors now.
