You're pissed now, but give Bishop a chance. He's more than just an unproven goalie who might be a solid backup. He'll make fans out of you, he's going to be a very good starting goalie someday very soon.

P.S. How did Conacher earn the nickname "Honey Badger"?

I hadn't even considered the possibility of moving Honey Badger. That's what caught me so off guard.

Welcome to the grave yard, Bish.

I'm sure he can step up to the plate, there's a reason 6-8 teams were fighting for him.

Sens will not be your divisional rivals.

Buffalo, Montreal, Boston, Ottawa, Toronto, Columbus, Detroit.

lol no.

I dont like the move either but I feel its too soon to react. Bishop may be a great goalie for us. Conacher could turn out to be nothing special. Lets wait and see on this one guys.

Since when? Did I miss some memo? I thought we were in Ottawa's division with Florida as well and Columbus in a different one...

in my heart this sucks, but i'm trying to think with my head.

Gotta remember Brett Connolly will be in our top 6 next year and I agree Tyler Johnson is a better version of Conacher. But I will say, Bishop better push Lindback to be a legit #1 or become it himself because the fan in my is not happy losing one of my favorite guys.

At first, I was wondering what you guys were complaining about. I mean, a 4th for Bishop is not a bad gamble, he's looked pretty good this year.

Then... I saw Conachar. Ouch.

It's just that, the Ottawa Senators play very solid defensively and limit offensive chances, thus, inflating their goaltender's numbers.

Not the best trade for Stevie 'Why', but then again, time will tell.

Apparently Conacher didn't know he was traded until a member of the media called him about it. That's awful if true.

Guys give Bishop at least a chance, he played well this year behind a bad defens in Ottowa and will now play behind an even worser defense, but they got a lot better already under Cooper, so if he plays as he did in Ottowa he will be great.

Conacher was a free agent signing for us so yes he didn't cost us anything. Bishop is young and has a chance to be a really good goaltender.

Something to keep in mind that I posted earlier:

Ben Bishop has increased his GP in every single year since he came in the league and every year, his GAA has gone down and his SV% has gone up.

Put simply: he has improved his numbers over every previous season he's had while taking increased workload.

**** that, I want Honey Badger back.

Ottawa has a much better defensive group than us between Gonchar, Phillips and Methot alone.

Hey guys.
I have no idea why everyone think Tampa got fleeced. Bishop is an amazing goalie and I have absolutely no doubt he will be a solid starter for years to come.
Glad for him. Wish he went to the West though. Really hate the idea of him being in the same division with us. Ugh.

What makes you say that? I'm not happy, but we seem to be writing off Bishop before he's played A SINGLE GAME. And a bunch of people on this board had already written off Lindback which I thought was really unfair to the kid. He had been playing better before the injury and hell, they both have very little experience. It may not work out, but it's way too early to be so definitive. The upside for both of these guys is huge (pun intended).

Step off the ledge guys...it's ok. We all liked Conacher...a lot. This isn't Millbury bad.

I know it's hard not to be emotional, but let's be a bit objective here. We traded an undrafted player who this season has 9g, 15a in 35games and a 4th for a goalie this season who is 8-5 with a .922 sv %. While Conacher is a Calder candidate, he has 1/2 than a full NHL season under his belt...no telling if he will continue this caliber of play in the future (same can be said for Bishop too).

Hate to see Conacher go though.

Lol, Gonchar isn't good defensively, Phillips has lost a step, and Methot is basically only good at zone exits. Take it easy.
