NYR trade Gaborik to CBJ for Brassard, John Moore, Dorsett and 6th round pick. #tradecentre

Good trade for both teams. Moore has skill but CBJ had too much D depth to really fit him anyways. Hopefully Gabby can find his game again

My break down:

Gabby < Nash
Anisimov > Brassard
Erixon = Moore
Dubinsky < Dorsett (Dubi may be better, but Dorsett is cheaper).
1st > 3rd + 6th

It's equal in my book.

Genius?

This deal IMO is a poor move by Jarmo. Gaborik is nowhere near the same player he was. This helps out NY big time for next year. I think Brassard still has good upside too and could look good for NY.

I'd say that's a Tradecenter tradeworthy trade right there.

I do not like this from a NYR perspective, I just don't get it. They struggle to score so they bring in Clowe in one deal, and ship out Gaborik in another? Not to mention I expected a bit more headed NY's way. GJ CBJ.

I'm almost happy for Gaborik he can get away from Tortorella, assume he waives NTC.

Return does not seem bad at all, but really those are assets a good manager should be able to have around without trading his top goal scorer for the past 3 seasons, no?

Could go either way depending how Gaborik does. Will probably be a steal one way or the other in the end. Smart move by Columbus regardless though.

this isn't that bad for the rangers. people underestimate how important depth is and role players to a contending team. i think the rangers will be a better team. also, I'm happy for columbus and their fans. great deal for them

Finally a deal that makes sense for both sides.

And lol at the people thinking a Crosby-less Pitt is a fave in the playoffs...

Wow. Pretty abysmal return for a player of Gaborik's talent. Regardless of how bad of a year he was having and/or how much Tortorella might have hated him, that's a bad return.

Yeah but John Moore is a good piece who could play in the New York Ranger's top 4 for a long time.

I think this one could be looked at in a few years as a good trade for both teams.
