He should never be paired with Phaneuf.

This still doesn't really fill our defensive hole. At best, this is a sideways deal.

-8 in 18:51 TOI on Colorado. I think he will be + by the end of the year. I believe in our scouts here.

What's the point? So Gardiner can spend even more time in the press box?

The funny thing is O'Byrne isnt even that much better if any then those guys.

He's actually quite similar to Holzer.

people want trades, then complain when the team does exactly what they want them to do.

we didn't trade any prospects, we still have our 1st in this years draft and we did get more depth. thats what nonis told us he would do and thats what he did

Guy was not worth a 4th , maybe a 6th. Rather have Kostka on the bottom pairing

No, Komi may be better.

Poor Gardiner, was a rookie all star last year now he's too risky to even play. Carlyle is Lupulzing him.

I personally wish that Nonis reached in a little deeper into his pocket and grabbed someone better.

Expect the Leafs pairings to be Gunnarsson-Phaneuf, Fraser-Franson and Liles-O'Byrne often the rest of the way. Bad news for Gardiner-Kostka

Why didn't they just call up Komisarek if they wanted a bruiser?

It's pissing me right off. It's like Toronto can only treat one young player well at a time. Last year it was Gardiner, this year it's Kadri.

What a joke.

Your argument was that O'Byrne sucked because he was on the ice for the most goals. You then stated he was on the worst team in the NHL. What was the point of that?

yeah that's what i'm thinking after hearing and reading about O'Bryne

I'm not a fan of Komi at all and think he's literally not a smart person but this guys sounds exactly the same but cost a 4th

maybe Komi just wouldn't listen to Carlyle and tried to do more

Nonis needs to step in here and force Caryle's hand.

Ultimately, Jake Gardiner is more important to this organization than a single playoff birth.

Go with 7 defensemen if necessary. The kid needs to play.

Injuries happen, particularly in the playoffs, it doesn't hurt to have extra bodies. He doesn't usurp Gardiner because if the latter is going to make the lineup, he's expected to play top four minutes.
