Think Bryz will be bought out?

Who will get the call to be our starter?

Mason + Boucher.

It's not the end of the world, but a bunch of really poor small moves all add up. Yes that 3rd has very little chance of making the NHL, but every now and again you hit on one of those lotto tickets and it helps to have a lot of them. Henrique was a 3rd round pick for example, so was Marchand.

Mason is a rfa. The Flyers would have pay a chunk to qualify him but I could see a lower hit than 3 mil over some term. Depending on his new contract, this could be a good deal. It's a boom or bust type of situation.

No, he's pretty much a UFA. In order to keep his RFA status, the Flyers must qualify him @ 2.9M+. AKA he's basically a UFA.

If you want to call him an RFA to make yourself feel better about the move Holmgren just made or whatever, that's fine, but for all intents and purposes he is a UFA.

Phoenix have a deal in place to trade Matthew Lombardi to the Ducks. Trade call. #transactions2013

Does it seal Bryz's fate?

His contract can't be worse than Bryz's...

Then pay him $2.9mil! It's a hell of a lot better than that joke of a contract we gave Bryz!

If you want to call him a UFA to make yourself sound smart then that's fine. He is a RFA. That's what his contract says.

Ok, And a 25 year old goalie who had a great rookie season, followed by several bad ones, is a flat out bust 100%? You take a chance, this way or that way, whats the difference? Other than losing Leighton.

If true, Minny paid the premium for Pommer.

Ball is in our court with him. I say he takes a pay cut over 2-3 years with the promise to fight for a starting job. That being if Bryz gets bought out. Id love to see a back up like Biron come in and share time with him. This allows the team to focus on D come draft time, since the 1st will be set in stone itll be easier to assess what to do there. Maybe our first can land Kulikov? Maybe make a run for Gardiner? Draft Jones/Nurse? I feel this trade is a solid block in rebuilding. Our 2nd could potentially be high as well.

Lol. They may have to deal Schneider instead, every GM knows if no one will take him they will either buy him out or move Schneider

Agreed but still judging by some of reactions on here I legitimately think this ruined some people's week. I'm just glad this was the worst thing Homer did this deadline.

There were people predicting the first and second round picks would be gone by now.

Homer hopes to have Cal Heeter here to back up tonight. Neil Little will take warmups.

Also, the pick going to Columbus is 2015 third-rounder.

That will virtually be a 4th rounder when we win the cup in 2015.
