My best guess at this point is that the reason for his existence here is so we can send Drazenovic back to Springfield, where he has been awesome.

Beyond that... still don't get it.

He's not going to contribute offensively like he did that one year on Long Island, but I've got to give Blake credit, he brings a solid physical effort every game. It's a good add for Columbus after losing Dorsett.

I actually didn't mind Comeau this season. He's an honest guy and a great skater, even if his hockey IQ and puck skills are nonexistent. He'll be fine in a bottom 6 role.

A 5th is fair value, and honestly, that's the best we could have hoped for with Feaster at the helm.

He was worth less than that to the Isles. The Flames got him on waivers.

He had a few good moments, but overall he won't be missed much.

He'll play in the bottom 6, not the top 6 would be my guess. I don't know his contract situation but this is clearly a stop gap measure. With the addition of Gaborik everyone slides down a notch so Comeau should fit a better spot... ?? Maybe ??

Holy crap what a steal, a hole 5th rounder? I didn't he would be picked up on waivers. Feaster you genius flood the market with players like Iginla and Jbo until one team is desperate and trade Comeau to them

Organizational move. Allows CBJ to keep Nick Drazenovic in Springfield, where he's been really good and they'd probably like to have him for their playoffs.

What's Feaster going on about when he said there needs to be a trade conference call? Does that just mean the deal isn't 100% sorted.

Comeau is having immigration issues.

That is a great line. All the tools, no tool box. He did hit though, and skated well. We'll miss those attributes. A soft team is a little softer. Comeau can definitely be replaced on the cheap in free agency.

You won't hate him. He took Stajan's spot as the whipping boy around here. He couldn't make good plays with the puck, but his play without it was pretty good. He's physical and skates well. Just don't expect any resemblence to a 24 goal scorer. He's lost that completely. Gets 5 chances a game because he works hard and doesn't bury any of them.

That sounds like a decent fourth liner, which is what we were having to use Draz as. So yeah, that should be fine.

As long as he contributes as a bottom 6, I am fine with that.

He can pk rather well and likes to play physical. His best attribute is he gives it 100% every night but we have been trying to make room for Horak and Sven so he was the easiest to get rid of.

Comeau's no all star but he'll be good for the Jacket's bottom 6.

Definitely a cultural fit. This trade now makes sense to me. Thanks!

This is probably Feaster's second best trade as GM of the Flames. The first being getting two 2nds for Erixon

I've been watching Blake play since he was like 11 or 12, he used to be my neighbor. I really wish the Oilers would have picked him up, he's a decent third line option. I just think the Flames were totally misusing him. Not to mention, he kinda got crapped on after he overperformed for a couple of seasons on the island.

He has literally played every spot he could from 1st to 4th line. He has great hustle but isn't much more than a decent 3rd liner.

When Comeau was played on the fourth line and penalty kill, I actually quite liked him. Lots of energy and can be physical at times. If only our coach wasn't dead-set on him being a top 6 forward.
