Colorado....hmmm.

How about Samsonov and Murray for Morris? or
Samsonov and Murray for Hedjuk and Hinote? or Skoula?
or Knuble and Murray for Tanguay and Skoula

just thinking "out loud".

Sergei Samsonov and Glen Murray for Derek Morris????
Good Lord, man.

How about Raycroft for Trevor Kidd?
Or Thornton for Juneau?

Or how about I punch myself repeatedly in the genitals for a couple of hours?

Okay, I guess I shouldn't think about trading a plateaued injury prone (subjective term) 60-70 pt guy with little D and a slow past his prime one dimensional almost UFA sniper with zero D for one of the best younger all-around defensemen in the league, especially when we're gagging desperately for more defense. Where are we supposed to find the D we need? From a magic bag in faery land? Okay, so if you're Colorado, do you trade Gill and Samsonov for Morris? I wouldn't. Keep punching yourself in the nads and you'll find that Muzz isn't going to be much of a draw. The fact that we would ever consider ditching him after his second tour of B's duty is a whopping red flag. Look at what happened with Stumpel...I bet LA would like their pick back and go for someone else.

i really don't see how you can say that murray won't bring much of a return. in fact, that's a borderline ridiculous statement. possibly the best sniper that would be available at the deadline, and he won't bring us a good return? the fact is, if murray was on the block, a contending team would pay a pretty good price to get him. the fact that he'd be leaving boston for a second time has absolutely no bearing on his trade value.

Fair enough

Fair enough. We'll see what we get for him if he's shipped out, but I wouldn't say that he's worth half of Morris. If a team is contending, then Murray isn't the answer to putting them over the top if they have to give up a major player in return. I'm sure that we could get more for Samsonov and Murray than I have suggested, but in the likelyhood that the demand isn't really there for Murray then ending up with Morris is okay by me. Sammy and Muzz for Tanguay and Morris is much more acceptable to me, but we would have to throw in a little extra to make it in Colorado's best interests.

Morris has been injury prone so far in his young career as well. Sorry wicked, but we'd need something else coming back our way besides Morris to give up our best young winger AND possibly our best soon to be trading chip.

kpd/hoh
If they trade the Ferrari, it better not be for another tractor...how about a Jesse James altered Hummer with an oil drill attachment in back and a tank cannon in front?

No, no, I prefer the James altered Mustang to Bog Racer (if memory serves I believe that was the conversion), because after all we want a team that has the speed and quickness off the line but also isn't afraid to muck it up.

No, the Mustang was the "world's fastest lawnmower"....they took a Corvette and made it into a 'mudder'.

Now, if we can put some of Green's grit into Sammy, we wouldn't be talking about this at all now would we?
(But to be fair, I still believe that Sammy's turned into a decent 2-way player, courtesy of Keenan, and actually throws a check or two every now and then).

Nothing...I'm curious myself what if anything will happen. I hope nothing happens to be honest other than maybe the Poti deal. My understanding though is something is going down. No way after reading the papers today it can be Samsonov. Hey, I may be wrong and as the saying goes I'd rather be happy than right- unless your my wife or mother (or children...damn dogs the only one who could care less about being right- just take me for a walk )
