What an awful trade by Yzerman, Benshop is not the answer right now
Likewise, I think TB fans are going to really like Bishop. He seems like a really great guy who always loved talking with guys on the bench, really good team player.

This trade could potentially turn out a steal for either team. Im not sold on either player, Conacher is overrated IMO and 5'8". Not sure if he'll got what it takes in the NHL playoffs. BUT he could thrive in Ottawa (dont know why, just seems like a good fit).

Bishop is just starting out his NHL career and like we've seen so many times from goalies, they play well for one team (but not many games), get traded and then have serious difficulties.

With the duo of Lindback & Bishop, you'd think one of them will pan out big time in the long run though.

And to think, Tampa could have had Bishop for just a 2nd last season. Better late than never, I guess?

Terrible trade for both teams imo. Bishop was playing well with the Sens as was Conacher for the Bolts. This makes no sense.

and the Senators could've had Conacher for free this offseason. What's your point?

Anderson and Lehner leave Bishop as the odd man out, they traded him when his value was high and got a good return.

You clearly don't pay attention. Bishop is ottawas third string goalie.

What?

The Sens have a plethora of goalie depth and Lehner not only proved that he is the goaltender of the future for Ottawa, but also that he is a goaltender capable of performing now.

It's not like Anderson and Lehner are the only options for Ottawa either. Although a little bit away, the Senators drafted Chris Driedger in the 3rd Round last year and is putting up a solid playoffs, as well as Francois Brassard in the 6th Round.

It shouldn't be hard to understand. We had 3 good goaltenders, so one had to go. Similarly Tampa had a lot of good young forwards. Seems like a win/win to me. Both dealt from depth to address their needs.

Like the trade for both teams. Tampa gets an improvement in net while Ottawa gets a badly needed scoring winger.

Very excited that the Sens acquired Conacher. I can't wait to see him in the lineup!

Will definitely miss Bishop, though. He's a tremendous goaltender and wish him nothing but the best in the future.

It may have been brought up, but is this the greatest difference in height for two players being traded?

Not sure Bishop is that much of an upgrade over Lindback. They should be acquiring defense before another goaltender. Conacher is far from a proven player either, definitely benefited from playing with good players in TB

I think the main point of this from Yzerman's POV is to have a powerful tandem. Tandems are great in this new NHL, I personally believe in it greatly. Lindback and Bishop will provide steady tending for a while for TB.

Conchar I'm quite excited about for the Sens. Should be great under MacLean.

Awesome trade, especially for the Sens.

Conacher has been playing outstanding this year, flashes of Marty St.Louis

What's with Yzerman and gigantic goaltenders who haven't proven that they can be starters?

I'd say Ottawa wins this trade. Not that I'm all that high on Conacher, but you can steer an aircraft carrier past Bishop's five hole. Putting a puck in the net on him is no big thing.

Umm...trap? Ottawa in no way plays the trap. As in, not even close.

how much do you think Conacher's stats are inflated due to playing with Stamkos and MSL?

He's going to love playing with Spezza and Karlsson next season if they were.

Fantastic for both teams imo.

Strength for weakness on both sides.

That's an interesting question, I'd like to know that too.

As for the trade, neither guy is proven yet, but we Senators fans are certainly convinced on Bishop. We're all sad to see him go. He's definitely an upgrade over Lindback IMO.

Shocked by how much of value everyone putting on conacher. Bishop is going to finally give Tampa the goalie they need. A young really good goaltender. Not sure why all the fuss. Forwards are a dime a dozen. Great goaltending is gold and everyone will soon see how even this trade was.
