Love Gaborik. Hope he finds his scoring and does what we know he can do.

Joke of a trade.

He will score 10 goals in each meeting against us next season, along with hat tricks from Dubi, Anisimov, Erixon, and Prospal. May god have mercy on our souls.

Should I laugh or cry if Gabby pots in 5 goals? Don't want to think what I should do if he gets more than 5.

I like him. He's a good guy and I hope he does well in Columbus. He was not having a good year here and when he's not scoring he's not very useful as he doesn't contribute a lot in other areas. I hope he gets back to where he was--though I don't want him to do too well against us.

Well at least I now have a 2nd favorite team with all these Rangers on Columbus, even JD is there.

Problem is they are going to be in our division next year so that might nowt work out long term for me.

It was the wrong move from the outset to sign him, but he is a very talented player and he was thrilling to watch at times. He is a very frustrating guy to have on your team because of how inconsistent he can be, but I think some people incorrectly lump him into the prima donna, egomaniac category. I don't think of him that way, but he needs too many things to go right around him in order for him to be successful, and I just don't like having guys like that on my team. They aren't as big a help to your club as their numbers suggest.

Wish him the best, and I'm a huge fan of John Davidson, Jarmo Kekalainen (I think they did tremendous work with the Blues), so I'll be rooting for Gaborik, Artie, Prospal, and the rest of the BJs. Ryan Murray ain't too shabby, either.

This was not a good trade. Not a good return at all for what Gaborik can bring to the table. You can talk about how he hasnt been scoring well apparently it was ok for Clowe to bring back multiple draft picks even though he has zero goals this year. Gaborik is still a 40 goal scorer. You can't tell me we couldn't have held onto him and traded him at the draft to a desperate team who would offer more. Or worst comes to worst we get the same trade.

I loved Gaborik here and still would have loved him here. He can still play. I am not a Torts hater, but he is not an offensive coach and that killed Gaborik's game this year. The constant mind games and shuffling from RW to LW was just plain stupid. Demotions the 3rd line were asinine as well. Torts does not know how to coach offense and/or pure offensive players.

Good luck to Gaborik in CBJ.

I'm hoping to see Gabby rack 'em up and put 'em down in the future.
He was so exciting to watch, and provided some high end hockey that Rangers fans cannot say they see on a regular basis.

I wish it had worked out this season, but we will see how it all plays out.

I understand the frustration with this move that came out of left field and I myself didn't expect but it's pretty clear that the rest of the league wasn't knocking down our door to get their hands on Marian Gaborik for the stretch run. He'll go down as perhaps Sather's best free agent signing because he did produce but it's very clear that both sides wanted a divorce. Thanks for the good times and stay healthy!

Best of luck to Gabby in Columbus. One of the better free agents we have signed. Hell be back to a 30-40 goal scorer next year.

Posted in the trade thread as well, but Gabby keeps his NTC:

Interesting. After the trade, Marian Gaborik's NTC stays in full-effect.

In the Visnovsky situation, the arbitrator ruled that his NTC was waved in an earlier transaction (when Lubomir was traded from the Oilers to the Ducks), thus could be traded again with no NTC limitations.

Marian Gaborik's waving of the NTC:

I'll never forget the OT goal he scored against Washington in the playoffs last year. He had my father, brother and I jumping up and down like little girls. One of my favorite moments of my hockey-watching career.

Though drunk and exhausted, by far one of my top 5 favorite moments as a rangers fan in my life. Thank you Gaborik.

Great moment.

Gaborik was one of my favorite Rangers and one of the best signings in recent years.

Lots of people like to call him soft, I don't buy it. Guy played with one shoulder in the playoffs last season when he could've just ducked out and sat. A lot of great memories of Gabby with the NYR sweater on. I will definitely be watching a lot of Jackets games next season rooting for him.
